First school shooting of the fall

There's security at every entry of every federal office, and 60 billion washed to Ukraine, 1 billion would provide security for every school in our country for a year, perhaps more. This was not a one off. Just like Nashville.
May the good Lord watch over this young man's soul and comfort his parents and siblings.

Parents have some splaining to do

It’s more of an effort, even if mainly just for show, than they do for the schools. The presence of metal detectors and some sort of security presence should be enough to find a f***ing rifle in a kid’s backpack.
In all likelihood, you could hold the rifle flat in the center of your chest and walk right through the metal detector anyway…, or just shoot your way in I guess

Meanwhile -On Atlanta TV - (Remember this when they talk about guns being the leading cause of death of children)
"According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), drowning is the leading cause of death for children 1 to 4 years old in the U.S."

Uhh that’s cause there’s no 2 year old gang bangers.

Everyone around the Maine shooter knew it was coming, the Army and the FBI were looking into it.............

All the FBI and the DOJ have done since 2016 is protecting the Biden's, protecting Democrats, lying about Trump, relaxing security hoping a shooter would kill him.

And the RINOS have been looking into it.............

You'd think so, yes. But you're ignoring the downsides everyone here is bringing up.

A lot of schools loudly put in metal detectors, then quietly remove them as soon as they can. You should ask yourself why they choose to do that.

So, the kid has a "history" and has threatened to do this for over a year.

It's a massive issue, no doubt about it.

But I've got news for you: A LOT of 12-year-olds say a lot of dumb things about what they want to do. I'm sure it's hard to sort through the chaff and figure out who's serious.

Kamala talks about how when she and us were kids we didn’t have active shooter drills and that it’s sad. WHAT CHANGED KAMALA?

It’s amazing how democrats refuse to see the pattern. The guns have always been there and yet shootings have seemed to only pick up once we started doping our kids on every medication possible…. Hmmm no I’m sure that is just a coincidence right?

“Those that are deceased are heroes in my book,” said Chris Hosey, director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. “Those that are in the hospital recovering right now are heroes in my book.”

What an odd thing to say…

Harris/Walz will be pressured to use this as a talking point in their gun control platform. Gun control is way down the list of useful topics to them and probably not a plus.

The Hill: ”Vice President Harris on Wednesday went off script at a rally in New Hampshire to condemn gun violence following a shooting at a Georgia high school earlier that day.”

”Greg Mann, a parent at Apalachee High School, told 11 Alive, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta, that many students, who fled to the football field, had left their phones and keys inside the school. Mr. Mann said he was at the school helping to connect them with their families.”

Our CERT had proposed that we be involved in reunifications after active incidents and other localized disasters but got the snub from agencies - they’d rather do it poorly than have a team trained in such work, I guess. We quoted news stories from people who said they heard about their loved one’s death from 1st responders who then moved on without comment.

Just a sh*t way to get things done that’s been so well recognized as a failing that there are actual training courses on how to do it better. But agencies refuse to do it right. Too many jurisdictional conflicts. Their priority is walking around in body armor with slung weapons for hours *after* an incident, using up all their cop-stuff. They ask school teachers/staff to do the work, who are often themselves traumatized, or leave it to nobody.

"In an interview on CNN, Lyela Sayarath, a junior at Apalachee High School who said she sat next to the shooter, described him as a “quiet kid” who recently transferred into the school and often skipped class. “He never really spoke,” she said. “I couldn’t tell you what his voice sounded like, or really even describe his face to you. He was just there.”

A neighbor said she would see two little kids at the home but never knew they had a 14 yr old boy at the home.

”Abby and her friends had heard banging outside. They opened the classroom door and saw police in the hallway, then ran to the back of the room and hid behind a long lab table.

“That’s when I thought I heard shots,” Abby, who is 15, said in an interview. “It was like quick.”

Like an automatic weapon.

Her teacher gave everyone instructions in a voice that was soft but very direct: “Get down, be quiet, don’t move, don’t talk.”

FBI received anonymous tips about the kid making threads about school shootings last year and referred the matter to local officials.

More than a year ago, tips about online posts threatening a school shooting led Georgia police to interview a 13-year-old boy, but investigators didn’t have enough evidence for an arrest. On Wednesday, that boy opened fire at his high school outside Atlanta and killed four people and wounded nine, officials said.
