Anyways, since living in NH, I have been wanting to put together a rifle, erm AR pistol, for my fiancee. But I'm a poor so I want to fund it by selling one of 2 uppers/parts that I feel are expendable.
10.3" Aero Upper/DD MK18 FSB barrel with Centurion C4 cutout rail
11.3 Rainier Upper/BA 11.3 Hanson barrel with BCM QRF 10" rail
I know, everyone will say, just have her use one of my uppers...well then it wouldn't be hers would it?
Will be selling the scope separately and keeping the eotech and the lights. Maybe will keep the bcg and ch from the 11.3.
I have to say, both barrels fit in the Rainier upper with a little play (fine) but the DD barrel is a perfect snug fit in the Aero and the BA would need to be gentled tapped in or use the heat/freeze method to install.
To me, Aero upper is the way to go - tight fit usually means better accuracy, along with using the 10.3 and I get the shortest realistic barrel length for 556. I've had this set up for almost 15 years now.
Also not opposed to removing the FSB and adding the AGB from the 11.3 to the 10.3 and getting another rail all together. Then sell the 11.3 with a standard GB complete and the C4 rail separate.
