Not exactly. Most SBRs in this state were stamped because, well, they are federally SBRs. Not necessarily because of the AWB madness. Are they still screwed? Sure, but functionally no worse than any other AR/AK/whatever owner is under this "new" AWB. Obviously it depends on motive, but most people I know with stamps were not so much concerned about the state's BS.
Yes, it comes down to full cannonball send for everyone now.

And is your chief burning up the phone lines, talking to his own MCOPA board? Bitching at them?

Has your chief issued a public statement on his own account, like some local CoPs did in response to the House bill even before MCOPA came out against it? Nothing is stopping him.
In a perfect world. We both know that’s not going to happen, for the same reason cops won’t write cops tickets.

The founding fathers understood tyranny all too well. The Constitution was written as a clear set of law as a message to the oppressors. The Constitution is not a shoulda, woulda, coulda, maybe or anything other. It is etched in stone what rights we were born with and what our rights will always be no matter how many modern day tyrants try to tell us what the Constitution really means or any other revisionist history they want to ram down our throats.

Funny…it works for the democrats but they get numbers and violent.
Gun owners in this state are lazy F*cks when it comes to thier rights . Something is better than nothing, like exactly what’s going on as we speak. Better than sitting on your ass Last rally barely hit 200 people. But many went into the state house and talked to reps and senators like my group did.
If we had 1000, maybe 5000 and all/most went to speak to our elected officials, that would have made a a statement. Made news.
That will never happen here because the left has beaten us over and over and we have the defeatist attitude now. Better to sit on our ass and wait than fight, cause they gunna win.
If 5000 gun owners headed to the state house(notice not peoples house)the SP would panic and start lobbing tear gas. All it would take is one person to push back and you'd be watching the attempted take over by insurrectionist on the news.

If we could get even 1,000 gun owners to do anything as a group at the same time, this thread wouldn't exist.

Indeed, even Trump underestimated the level of anger building in this country.

This, and MA politicians still wouldn't care because we (gun owners) are a small minority in the overall population of MA.

Reminder:

The Constitution is like a “No Guns Zone” sign for conservatives, in that the only people it would bind are those who are already generally honest and peaceable. The ones who would lie or commit harm would simply look at the piece of paper and scoff. - Michael Malice

Exactly.

Will an AR built and efa10ed after ‘16 (without the evil features) be grandfathered as it’s currently written?

Gun owners as a whole have a lot more to lose than a lefty piece of shit living in his parent’s basement. If we act a fool, our rights get taken away. I’m not saying we shouldn’t push back, but we have to be strategic about it.

1500+ people protested the Maura op-ed gun control in 2016. How did that work out?

I’m not proposing sitting on your hands, but to understand where efforts and energy are best spent in modern politics.

Stirring up some divisiveness among the MACOPA seems like a good start. Would love to see that big grinning sack of shit Eric Gillis squirming instead of proudly mugging for the cameras. I won’t hold my breath though. Thin blue line and all.

Cape and Islands Sentator Julian Cyr doing the heavy lifting to protect our rights. I mean, okay, sure. But seems like there were more urgent matters to handle yesterday.

Senator Julian Cyr

Amendment 60

Mr. Cyr and Ms. Comerford move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting the following section:-
SECTION X. Said chapter 140 is hereby further amended by inserting after section 129B(11) the following section: the licensing authority shall allow the change in name or sex designation of a person licensed to carry following a change in name or sex designation. Yep. I bet there’s a lot of discontent among the other members of the MACOPA that Gillis seems to have acted unilaterally. There are also probably members that are happy he will be the focus of the blame and they don’t have to be on record.

An organized resistance would contact every member of MACOPA and ask for comment and whether or not they support this, and what’s changed.

We have. There were a couple/few thousand protesting outside the state house. The news reported it as a couple hundred and the bill went through.

This thinking is actually very wrong. The problem is, each singular portion of this horrible monstrosity will have to be litigated one piece at a time in the courts. The more B.S. that is in it, the longer it will take in court to get each piece overturned. The current amount of nonsense in this bill would probably take 15 to 20 years to fight piece by piece. Letting them pass the worst version is our worst option. It is my opinion that contacting Senator Spilka and asking that Bill S.2572 be tabled until a proper public hearing can be scheduled with proper prior notice is our best hope of stalling it and being heard. Also contact your local Chief, and ask if and why they support disarming their citizens.
Calls made and the fine lady that answered the phone said the phone is ringing off the hook on this. Keep those calls coming. Also called my senator with my objections.

I know I’m going to get lit up for this one, but is there any easy way or a list of numbers that we can call? Working 16 hours a day sometimes some of us cannot fly through every single thread on here. I would love a list of numbers to call in my downtime at work I could make some calls.

I don't think EVERYONE is scared of their shadow; a lot of folks are just trying to understand an opaque and fast moving situation that is confusing to them in the same way the correct spelling of 'their" is to you.

My shadow can't land me in jail and ruin my life. My shadow isn't pulling out all the stops to deprive me of my 2A rights.
