I got to stop reading this shit. Every time I read rallies do nothing, writing your senators won’t do anything. Just wait for lawers and give lots of money to goal or comm2- who SUCK. Makes me sick. If people had your values in 1776 we’d all be Brit’s.
Fckn joke.
I GUESS BY YOU PEOPLE THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO. MIND AS WELL JUST MOVE RIGHT.
Rallies and meet & greets do work on most things - this was a golden cow and there was no stopping this. Yes, we did get some of the stupid removed or reduced so it did work but this was a BIG (huge) money dump from outside forces pushing this through.

We fought the house and got the MCOPA to back us up.
We fought the senate and got 90+ pages reduced to under 40.

Now we need to out perform on round 3 - this one is easy for everyone to get in on the action. Every dollar counts so even those on a budget can skip a couple of Dunkin runs and meaningfully participate.

July 2016 was easily over 1K

2014 also saw large numbers

I was there in 2016. Don't remember any official type of count but I can say no doubt there was over 1k in attendance.

And these guys think that wouldn’t make a difference here. That’s exactly what I’m talking about. NEVER In This state though.
We have all these influencers and guys on the board. Rather than try to organize they say it’s not worth it and scare everyone away.

The biggest hurdle in my mind with doing a rally of that scale is our anti-2A laws. If out-of-state folks showed up breaking the law, it would hurt more than help.

it also mentions copies/duplicates, read the entire section

Around 44.6% of adults in Virginia have guns at home.
Virgina polulation: 8,715,698
Estimated gun owners: 8715698 * 0.446 = 3,887,201
Percent Attending: 50k/3.9M = 1.2%

Mass gun owners ~ 700K * 1.2% = 8.4k
Yes, we suck.

Every rally I've been to, the only visible firearms were on the police officers. So carrying may make you feel good, but it's not a requirement.

Well Virginia has a history of guns and pushing back against a tyrannical government, so makes sense theyd show up

Bear in mind that most of that 700k is useless and effectively part of the problem. Many of them voted for the very people who push these trash bills every session.

Gun owners don't translate well to RKBA advocates particularly in the garbage states.

It's much bigger than this. After 1/6 we saw the full force of the Gov used to hunt down and destroy the lives of anyone who was on the scene even if they did nothing wrong and didn't enter the capital building. If they couldn't get them on some kind of trumped up criminal charges they went after them on social media and got them fired and canceled. Not saying it isn't worth a good fight but I bet a lot of people are second guessing participating in a "peaceful" protest after 1/6.

A huge portion of people in mass have literally already been doing that for years. That doesn't do anything either. "They" literally do not
care.

The danger with these laws is a chilling factor vs new gun owners and destruction of livlihood for dealers, above all else.

Absent sound legal action, "working the system through the front door" is about all you can do.

I appreciate your passion...really I do. Perhaps the issue is we need to find new different ways to make us known. Bombarding their social media pages, attending events they are at, actually getting all of our gun clubs to donate to goal and com2a. We can't keep doing the same thing expecting different results.

I know that personally, the demonizing of firearms owners by social media platforms has made me hesitant to post information on politicians' pages due to concern of retaliation. I'm sure I am not the only one, and this is by design. Who here is using their real full name as a screen name? You'd have to be not too sharp.

My name really is Kalash Kalashnikovich Kalashnikov.

You have a valid point though. The last thing I need is for my coworkers or neighbors to find out that I'm really into guns and rights.

Awesome that you're into guns and gun rights. It really is quite a hobby.

Where does the Constitution and The Bill of Rights fit into that? How about The Right Of The People?

I understand perfectly why no one is willing to take the day off work to defend their hobby. After all. They can just find another hobby. They can probably even find one that is less expensive.

If you think a pseudonym is going to protect you, you are hopelessly mistaken.

OK. You see the landscape perfectly. Which is exactly as it was intended. Which is exactly what the propaganda surrounding 1/6 was meant to accomplish.

And now what?

As far as donating.... just Comm2a, GOAL, and FPC? Anyone else? Should I concentrate on less? I apologize if this has already been covered.
