Medical Pot Card denial - Bass Pro Shit show

It sounds like the gun store guy was just trying to save the customer some time (and himself some work) if he'd be denied anyway on the background check. At least they didn't call the cops when the guy went "fing ballistic."

One the time when I was working the gun counter at Shooter's Outpost, the cops came in to arrest a guy the owner had ratted out... no idea for what.

I was paying attention to the interaction of this guy with the cops in case there was gunplay involved, and I'd need to act, and then Jim (the owner) yelled at me in front of everyone for being observant to protect myself and others instead of working... when literally nobody in the store was doing any business right then. All the customers were watching the cops arrest this dude!

Yes, it still pisses me off. [banghead]

Nikki Fried is a bunch of things that I can't type here because it will be censored and I will be banned but she is a swamp creature of the degree a democratic political hack

Nothing is done but it is AGAINST FEDERAL LAW to knowingly transfer a gun to a prohibited person. And fed courts have routinely defined people with MMJ cards as prohibited persons.

The clerk is a f***ing dumbass though, unless the guy literally whipped the card out onto the counter he could have simply claimed to have never seen the card and he would have plausible deniability "I only wanted to look at his DL"

People who put MMJ cards and so on or even an LTC in any other place that is not hidden in their wallet are f***ing stupid anyways, so I can't say I feel too bad for him, other than the fact that I don t agree with any of these stupid f***ing laws to begin with. But as a manuever having an MMJ card, LTC, or LE creds openly visible in a wallet to others that don't need to know is a f***ing stupid move.
From what another clerk said...he did take his card out and put it on the counter the week before.....

They are telling me if you have a FL Med Card...its linked in with the feds somehow and it will deny the background check even if you answer no on the drug question. Im not sure if that's true or not or they are being big box. Just what the manager told me.....

I will ask my regular FFL when I see them next.

I have a friend who is a “care taker” from the early days of the “medical pot” license in MA . Went to get a a LTC and got the big NO from the chief .
My friend who was a COP in a medium central MA town always denied LTC for MM card as well.

Same guy would let anyone carry any standard cap mags.....pre or post ban...didnt care.

Its not true. Nikki Fried actually specifically said the state is not sharing info with the feds.

That's likely pure bullshit. That's boxy mc boxerton store garbage.

Nobody should be buying guns at BPS or Cabelas. Ever.

I don't know why you people have to flint so hard. All you're doing is f***ing normal shops out of money, in favor of one that would vomit on you if they could make a couple bucks off
you.

Then again in places like FL a lot of the normal shops are terrible, so there's that.

I've purchased several firearms in MA and NH while having a MMJ card with no issues. My MMJ card and my FID card stay in a second wallet in my truck and are only removed one at a time when I need to use one. I'm not an addict and I'm not a "user", I have used in the past (at least 12 hours prior to signing that form) and have no plans to ever use again....although that could change down the road.

The MMJ card protects me at work and lets my buy for a family member who has a MMJ card but is under 21.

On another note, I really don't think the box stores like selling guns, they take 1-1.5 hours to do the paper work with everyone double and triple checking it. For my cheap barn rifle (22 cal) there is no way their profit margin covered employee wages/benefits.

I don't use it but if I did, I would grow it myself. I see it growing in people's yards in my town all the time. It's easy enough to camouflage if you are at some place where it's still illegal. Plus, the information on how to grow kick ass bud is all over the interwebz.

They buy guns cheaper than anyone else does in the country more than likely (because of buyers groups or even direct contracts with manufacturers) and the objective is not really to sell you a gun, what they really want is people in the store buying all the other crap that goes with it. I honestly think that whole dragging it out thing is intentional as much as they like to shout "liability". You are held prisoner in the store for an hour or longer, which increases the odds that they can let you traipse around the store and buy more 100% markup junk in your cart while you're "waiting for the paperwork to get done" etc. They will never admit it but theres an ulterior motive there for making the process obnoxious.

Its like walmart still selling ammo. Walmart doesnt make a killing on ammo but they still sell it because its an attractive nuisance to bait men into coming into a walmart. There are still people even right here on NES that will go into a walmart to buy ammo despite the fact that they basically pissed on gun owners like a handful of times in the last decade or so just like "dicks" did, but somehow tramlaw gets a pass for going full fudd.

A key phrase. Once could be chalked up to ignorance, maybe; the 2nd time is now idiocy.

if they guy actually put it out on the counter thats like extra stupidity on top. It's like saying to a cop "YES OFFICER I WAS GOING 200 mph. I'm sorry" well now that you're on the f***ing recording saying that on the cops body cam, the guy can't make up an excuse and cut you a break. [rofl] people are retarded.

See the ATF PDF I posted (or the image I subsequently embedded in a post edit). If the FFL see's or knows the person has an MJ card they're supposed deny the sale or transfer even if a person answers no to the MJ question.
What if you got the to buy weed for a sick elderly relative? Or got it to treat a condition that you no longer suffer from? Had it when you were going through chemo and beat cancer so no longer need it?
I think that the mere possession of the card is hardly proof that someone is a marijuana user.

You can’t hide the smell.
For indoors grows you can with carbon filters. I've grown the state limit indoors with zero odor. Outdoors is a different story, I've had some that you could smell 1/4 mile away.

I don't think they are that strict on the outdoor grows now, it use to be that you could not see them from the road and they are fenced in. We have a local State Trooper that has a grow 100' from where he parks his state issued SUV, about 75' from the road, nothing blocking the view and a fence that is only 4' high. I have no clue if the trooper lives in a multi family and it's someone else's grow, point is that he doesn't care and I guess the town cops that pass by it dozens of times a day don't care either. I think the spirit of the law might be not leaving plants out for kids to see/harvest.

It clings to you, tho.

My cousin worked for awhile for

He had to carry a "Get Out Of Jail Free" Card just in case he was pulled over when driving home from work. It basically said he worked for a MMJ factory, and "this is why he smells like he does." This is despite wearing labcoats while at work.

Or, just don’t make the card obvious. Some people just don’t have common sense.
Like asking can I drive to X with a gun in my car. Don’t hang it out the window. Don’t put it on your dashboard.

Drive down 95 through Pawtucket and Providence and the smell is overwhelming, also in Franklin, the grow facility at Forge Park has that odor.

It's why I don't pick up people at the local grow facility. Last time I did, my very next passenger accused me of driving while high.

My Local shop is solid good guys, Dench sent me....... all of them work or are retired from the Sheriffs dept.

So NES will take issue with that Im sure because they are LEO..... as NES takes issue with just about any fxcking thing you do. Anyway, Their prices aren't bad if they have in stock I buy from them, just bought a cherry used G17 from them the other day.

I see a good deal or gun that is not made anymore I buy it.....BPS wants to give me free shit Ill take it. Honestly even with weed a**h*** temper tantrum today, I was in and out of there in 20 mins and saved 200 dollars on the gun easy. My local BPS if not busy...is decent and they seem to have streamlined a bit.

I would still order from a remote and have a table top process the inbound long before I ever spent a single dime buying a gun through BPS or Cabela's.
