I picked this up at Zero Hour this afternoon.

I look at those every time I'm in ZHA. Nice grab. The only reason I didn't snag one of those is I found a stripped Eagle Arms (Armalite) preban lower and will build an evil SBR.

I saw that HK too. DAMN. I wish I had the $ for that beauty. Nice purchase.

I like it. It comes with the Heinie "straight 8" sights, which is a little different, but it didn't take me too long to get used to. It's my first 1911, and since I'm a southpaw I like the fact that it came out of the box with ambidexterous safety. Yes, there are better ones out there, but for the money (I paid $525 plus tax) you can't beat the Taurus. I only ran one box through it betwen me and my wife when we got home, but I was on an 8" target at about 20'. I'm gonna work some more today on getting those sights figured out.

Why can't you guys have them up there?

Gun manufacturers have to go through a convoluted and contrived system in order to get handguns "approved" for sale here. Taurus either hasn't finished the process or won't bother with it. Our 1911 choices are quite limited.

Doesn't have one. This is the LEM trigger variant (HKs version of DAO) which is really smooth unlike the pistols we have at work.
