New Acquisitions for September

Thats nice, I really would like to try that gun of course after you break it in on your own lol. IF we can ever meet up at a NES shoot or otherwise I would like to ask to do so.

No problem, happy to let you shoot it. I had to pull out of the Holbrook shoot in Sept due to business travel but will attend as many NES shoots as I can in the future.

That's a really sweet 1911. Did the slide come naked or did someone remove the logo? They make some of the best 1911s IMO.

The original owner ordered the gun with the naked slide and no front serrations, I like the clean look. Wilson's are sweet and Nighthawk's are just as good but not as expensive. Most of the gunsmiths at Nighthawk left WC and started the new company. Love my Nighthawk and I sure the Wilson will get plenty of range time when it arrives.

Thank you kindly in advance. I am sure you will be very happy!

I wish I had some new gun to post here but a new acquisition will be coming to me soon, probably tomorrow. It isn't gun related but it is a major welcome to my world. I just got home from a dealership in my area. I'm putting a deposit down on a 2012 Nissan Frontier 4x4 Crew Cab in the morning [smile]. The test drive went awesome, it is a sweet driving truck and will fit my needs perfect. I spend a lot of time in NH and the winters there are pretty snowy and my Altima coupe is just a sled in the snow. The Frontier will probably be my main vehicle because I already have fallen in love with it. Pictures will be posted immediately when I get it! If anyone has one and has advice on them, please send me a PM. I'll most likely attach a small Gunvault to the seat so I can keep ammo in the truck. I'm rambling now but I promise I'll have pictures soon.

Pre pickup congrats. Crew cab trucks are the bomb. So versatile.

Mrs zbombs dad is letting me take this piece of steal for an extended test drive. Not sure if I'll be giving it back or not. It's a Kimber custom II

Awesome, congratulations!!

I'm thrilled to FINALLY post the acquisition of a S&W 3913, courtesy of AlohaDoug.

Great gun. Shoot it a while before you decide to have any trigger work done. The 3rd generation semis have very good triggers out of the box. Put a few hundred rounds through it before you decide what you want to do with the trigger.

Be careful though, they are addictive. It starts with a 5906, then you have to have a 6906, followed by a 3914NL, a CS9, and for variety, a 457. Then you find a pristine 3913.

You just started at the other end of the spectrum with a very clean looking 3913.

Yup. Ask me how I know.

No cash to buy guns right now but I did pick up a nice set of wood grips for a Model 39 this week from Gunbroker. They're getting harder to find and I like having them around as spares.

I've always liked my M9, so I finally bought a 92fs.

I've run about 200 rounds through it so far - not a single problem even with crappy Blazer ammo.

I think my next purchase is going to be an AR build. I have a difficult time putting together enough to buy a nice AR all at once because with five kids it seems like every time I get a few hundred extra dollars something comes up and I have to spend it. But if I buy a stripped lower I can just slowly add to it. And the wife never has to know.

Finally got myself a 1911 this afternoon - SW1911 Pro Series in 9mm. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, probably making an evening trip to the indoor range to break it in.

Does this mean you will be shooting in singlestack?

Eventually I'll probably give it a try. Right now I just have what it came with (gun and 2 mags) so I'm not really set up for it. Once I get a few more mags, a holster, and magazine carriers, then I'll be all set.

Just got back from shooting it for the first time, it shoots very nicely. Even feeds my MG JHP reloads without a hiccup, which I was concerned about since I've heard that 9mm 1911s sometimes have issues with stuff other than FMJ.

9mm 1911s have issues with everything. [rofl]

Wonderful guns if yours works right though.. and stays that way. It's like shooting a .22, like no recoil.

Haha your too funny. I wish some of my woman were as easy to open up as your wallet sometimes ;)
Can't wait to check it out. Hope that means you will be coming to the steel shoot tomorrow and breaking it in right...you know with pressure and all on you lol!

Haha, what can I say, I wanted a 9mm 1911 and so I got it. Unfortunately I don't have a holster for it yet, and only 2 mags.

I think you will LOVE this gun! I have two of these, one with night sites and one the adjustable as you have here. They shoot perfectly, no FTF or FTE issue ever and the recoil is so mild it will shock you, the trigger on this model is fantastic as well. Hope you enjoy it!

They are great guns and while I have no plans to buy any more right now, if the right one came along, I'd probably go for it. My gun plan for the rest of the year centers around a new AR lower, ammunition, 3rd generation magazines and parts.

Yup. Ask me how I know.

If that's the dark green that Ford/Mercury had back then, I had a '69 that was very much like it. I spent a lot of money (and aggravation) tricking it out. Holley carb, Edelbrock manifold, Doug Thorley headers. I learned the hard way that stuff that fit a '69 Mustang didn't necessarily fit a '69 Cougar. 351W engine with an automatic too. It started out with four wheel manual drums and ended up with power front discs from a wrecked '69 convertible. I had it up over 120mph on I-89 between Bow and Henniker. Good thing I knew the trooper who had that patrol!

Ah, the misspent days of my yout.

here is the car, sorry it took so long for the pics!

1967 mercury cougar, 390, auto, 9" rear, etc etc etc
