Police respond to report of shooting at pro-Israeli protest in Newton

While I agree in principal, sometimes strategic retreat is better than getting killed on the field...

I think if the Vet that can't fight would have pulled his gun as the guy was running towards him, he might have a better chance of not getting tackled and rolling around in a sex foreplay of men who can't fight and having to shoot the guy because he can't throw a punch...

The guy probably would have stopped charging once the gun was pulled and all this drama between people fighting over US tax payer dollars never would have happened.

OK that's not his life matrix

So if there's a possibility of bad things happening we shouldn't do it?

Do you understand what you just said? He's not capable of fighting so he should sit this out? You realize the morally right side hardly ever comes out? We should be throwing this dude a parade for going to a protest and smoking some pro hamas f*ggot

If he feels passionately about it he has the right to peacably assemble. You may not want to go to protests... but I have seen you bitch on here about the state of things.. he wants to go change it.. he has every right to do what he did...it offended some guy who ran across traffic to start a fight with him. And because he was caught off guard by that and ended up in a bad spot shot the agressor. And you're calling the shooter out?

Cmon son be better
Yes, don't go to a fight if you can't fight.

These Israel protests are known for violence.

Sit it out and let the tards kill each other.

I wouldn't have gone to an Antifa rally without my MP5.

So what we shouldn't go support our beliefs because it could be dangerous

The Vet showed up to a heated protest, knowing damn well things could get spicy real quick.

He chose to be there, he also chose to carry a gun to a protest.

I do my best to avoid situations where the need to carry is not an option, but somewhat mandatory.

Pal is guilty of assault, Vet is guilty of ADW if the Pal lives.

Bottom line is if you can't protect yourself without a gun, it might be a good idea to NOT put yourself in that situation.
So he has to choose between 1A and 2A? What commie nonsense is this?

A Pro-Hamas dude running straight at Pro-Israel man to make physical contact and slamming his body/head to the ground?
How many times have I heard of some guy who took a punch at some schmuck who was robbing his work truck, and the bad guy hit his head and croaked, so the guy defending his property got arrested for murder? At least twice since I moved to this hellhole.

Damn! He has every right to do both! Without anybody's permission! Ain't that a bitch?!

I’m not sure if it been mentioned but what I find stupid as he says grab my pistol and nobody does that would’ve been the first thing I did then we all would’ve kicked him in the f***ing head until he was dead

Pretty clear to me that pony tail had him on the ground, trying to get his head under his elbow to get him locked and was just starting to try to pound his face with his other fist.
Note his wrestling form is TERRIBLE
This is when the round was fired.

Duty to retreat where?
a) into the fist
b) into the ground
c) get choked out

The above is almost wheel gun territory.

The only side that routinely initiates violence in recent years is the left.
And the only provocation necessary is to be opposed.

We have the right to protest peacefully which the vet did.
We also have the right to self defense which the vet took advantage of.

No one has the right to use violence to settle a political difference.

I would repeat again. The only right you still have is a right to remain silent.

Everything else was already taken away and it is counterproductive to test it to what extent is it dangerous now. At least while you still have to make monthly payments to sustain your life.

Friggen weirdos, all of them.

How about just not giving a shit about what is going on over there?

I just don't understand it, people over here losing sleep over what's going on with either side is just bizarre to me.
I drive through well-to-do towns on the North Shore and think about how problem free these people's lives must be. Ukraine and BLM signs all over the place.

The Newton cop likely would have used other force before shooting him.

Not ever attack can or should be met with deadly force.
Non-deadly weapons, pepper spray and knowing how to use your hands are great tools for one to have in their toolbox. To have no choice but to go straight to a pistol can potentially ruin your life.

Im typically butting heads with you and the other perma-devil's advocates here, and if I was on the jury I'd be voting not guilty in a heartbeat, but I think he may have gone to the gun too quickly.

Yeah... that's fine if you want to say look the da is a shithead he's gonna jam you up

But @M1911 is actively saying i didn't see a life threatening series of events

This is why you carry non lethal etc etc

And no i disagree with that assessment

If the da jams him up for it.. well get mad at the da for being wrong don't mental pretzel yourself over a guy defending his life.

Agreed, I would have shot this prick too, frankly, but then again I wouldn't have put myself in that kind of position to begin with.

Then again at some juncture we must recognize this guy (the defender) was with actually peaceful protesters. Not blocking roads. Not assaulting people. I don't even care if those free palestine fags protest if they would actually stay in their lane. 1A should be protected. I can't shit on people exercising that right who do so without obstructing or interfering with others.

Legislators in MA codify into law the issue of "being in fear for one's life", then turn around and seek to diminish or dismiss that defense even though they can't possibly read the shooter's mind or know the intent of the aggressor. It is nothing short of obscene!!

Consider two scenarios:

A) You are in a bar, a guy bumps into you, spilling your drink. You turn around and yell at him “watch where you are going you f***ing a**h***!” He yells back. The screaming match continues. He pushes you, you push him, and eventually you pull a gun and shoot him.

B) You are in a bar, a guy bumps into you, spilling your drink. You turn around and say “excuse me”. He yells at you. You raise your hands defensively and calmly say “hey man, I don’t want any trouble, let me buy you a beer.” He throws a punch and eventually you shoot him.

The defendant in scenario B is in a stronger position than the defendant in scenario A because his words and actions didn’t help to precipitate the fight.
I'd rather just not drink in a bar and avoid the whole possibility of the interaction.

You assume the vet is able bodied.
Where? It was a general statement, but the guy certainly looked capable enough.

Guys, it’s not lost on me that not everyone can perform basic self defense, but it’s always weird to me that “self-defenders” think that stops at having a burner on their hip.

I assume the guy was just frozen, and if he, or any of the others, had even basic self defense training he would be home watching TV instead of facing a litany of legal bills.

Anywayz…this is a separate topic and I don’t want to thread drift

CWOF is Continued WithOut a Finding. At the end of the term it's a dismissal, it is not a conviction and not a prohibiting factor under state or fed law. But they will deny as unsuitable. Move out of MA and it means nothing.
I thought the unsuitability was dead in MA? (Bruen?) Regardless, a CWOF was not a death sentence even before that.
