Police respond to report of shooting at pro-Israeli protest in Newton

There are different levels of finding out...some are a "stomped like a narc at a biker rally" level...others are "shot to the face" level. I say for the most part because some cheer the nuclear option at any f*** off infraction.

So if you are in the street and someone pushes you and you fall backwards to the ground, you consider yourself authorized to shoot the guy because you could have hit your head on a curb?

Amending to clarify and add context...I am not talking about a Reginald Denny scenario where you are alone in a sea of hostiles...but like here...you and your homies out protesting and some chucklef**k rushes you.
Yes

Life is dangerous

I think he’s saying that people who put themselves into confrontational situations shouldn’t be surprised if someone comes at them, and that shooting the other person isn’t always going to be the best response.
The best way to survive a deadly force encounter is to not be there.

Rmr….on a black ~4” barrel striker fired pistol. First time seeing these pics, hard to tell exactly what it is. Could be any popular modern striker fired pistol that comes in black!! I would infer that this guy is more than just a casual gun guy…..

How many pages in are we and nobody has asked the question that pisses half of NES off but probably should be asked? Maybe for legal reasons the question should not be publicly answered (I am not an underwater basketweaving extraordinaire)???? Either way, NES has been slacking!!

You: "pro Israel protestors often get attacked"

Also you: "pro Israel protestors should not bring any means of self defense"

So essentially it's either a) exercise 1A and risk being attacked, or b) don't exercise 1A.

I've seen enough of your posts over the years to know that you're not stupid so you have to see the disconnect in your logic on this one.
I duno, people with such big disconnects in their logic…..

Who made the peaceful protest a dangerous situation?? Not the peaceful protesters. It’s the attacker who is the problem, the victim was peacefully exercising his constitutionally protected rights. Does that offend you??!!! I hope it does!!

The ones that violate the law and rights are in The wrong, period, full stop. There is one individual that proved through his actions that he has no business in polite society. Stop blaming innocent people.

The only thing the victim did wrong was not scoot the hell outa there….well and a few follow up shots were also in order.

Stupid should hurt, a lot.

Well, we don't need self help in this state, remember? /sarc

Clearly everyone involved was “guilty” using the NES ugly/guilty v hot/innocent meter.

We don’t know what happened prior to the start of the video. That said, it was ponytail boy who initiated the violence.

True, but I still wouldn’t have been there. And I think that was the point he was making. Just because you can be at one of these pro or anti-Israel protests doesn’t make it a good idea to be there.

I’m not saying it is wrong to attend a pro-Israel protest. I’m saying that my personal risk tolerance is such that I won’t do so.

It's a Freudian speech thingy. Some don't realize how far left they have drifted. Their uninhibited speech gives it away.

This is WHAT the LEFT is trying to do. KEEP those they don't agree with on the sidelines, and it they do show up attack them. They do this with Trump and MAGA folks.

You have a right to stand for your beliefs, a right to defend yourself. The Left fully intends to take this away from us.

Why some believe we should just not show up and speak simply reveals they are left of center.

Intubated in ICU, liver damage, hepatic flexure of large bowel resected, cholecystectomy, small bowel resection, and sepsis. Just some word salad 🥗
This idiot's guts were rearranged just because he couldnt manage to walk by some people he disagreed with. What a f*cking retard.

That’s all nice but actions don’t stop having consequences after the initial attack. Sure, you might prevail in court and you might have every moral and legal right to defend yourself with a gun but doing so comes with a cost. Maybe you take a life. Maybe you go broke paying lawyers. To me it’s worth it if I was pretty sure it was (my) life or death, but some hysterical ponytail diving at me doesn’t quite rise to that level, hard pavement or not. That’s all. Both sides can end up losing in a situation like this.

This is the same type of argument as a girl going out at night in a short skirt and getting raped. I get it, going out dressed like that probably wasn't the smartest decision... but the rape is still 100%, undoubtedly, unquestionably, objectively the rapist's fault.

Or when someone mouths off to a cop and gets stomped. Sure, being a jerk wasn't the smartest decision, but it's still the cop who is violating someone's rights.

Same here. Maybe you think he shouldn't have gone to a middle east protest. Maybe you think he shouldn't have carried a gun there. In the end it's still the masked dude who initiated a physical attack, plain and simple. He's the one who decided to FA and he most certainly FO.

Duty to retreat state... It'll be interesting how this unfolds.

The way I see it, pulling the trigger has to be both morally and legally justifiable. Morally, I think this is a case of FAFO - don't charge and attack people and you won't get shot. Legally though... in this state...
I would argue how could he retreat while he's on the ground being attacked. But being Mass, I'm sure he was supposed to shrimp like a pro BJJ guy, separate, and run.

This is why I pay for insurance. If I'm involved in an obvious, clear cut self defense situation, a shitty MA DA will likely still charge me and my family will be bankrupt and homeless in no time.

You mean communists…..

Hard to retreat when the guy tackles you.

That said, was there a clear threat of death and grave bodily harm?

These are the definitions you need to think about. Could getting punched lead to a lasting injury? It looks like the actual victim is older than I am, I know I don't heal like I used to at 50+ years old. There is increasing evidence of CTE from getting punched in the head.

A decent lawyer should be able to beat this and do away with a later prosecution against him, under double jeopardy. I still would have liked to see the attacker just get beaten down, still not a good look for what was probably our side.

He went broke defending himself against personal lawsuits, unfortunately.
He's alive to tell about it, not missing any parts of his limbs and he's doing better than you might think he is financially.
Dudes shitting in a bag for a while?
Where's the "I'll allow that " meme?

Maybe next time (if he lives so long) he'll keep his violent leftist tendencies under control and his stupid yap shut and walk on by.

I have ZERO sympathy for people like him who do shit like he did. Let it be a lesson to all those like him who think they are going to cow people into silence and inaction.

I would have bashed that commies head into the pavement until he didn’t move anymore.

The DA and whoever charged this hero deserve the same treatment. Stop tolerating tyranny.

Anyone know the guy?? He might need to be re-supplied….
