Police respond to report of shooting at pro-Israeli protest in Newton

In some, maybe many, places this would be no billed by a Grand Jury. MA and Middlesex County are NOT those places.

I fell bad for the shooter as it most likely was self defense. Even if he's acquitted, it's important to remember in places like MA the process is the punishment.
District court cases don't get presented to the grand jury.

Guys, unpopular opinion, but every able-bodied man should be able to handle a guy like that charging at them.
That's great and all but it still should be okay to shoot these f***ing people. Not to mention it's not that difficult for somebody to get blindsided. Take some guy that's like 50 plus maybe overweight or whatever he is it's not going to be that hard for some young guy to Humpty Dumpty him.

$5,000 bail. No 58a hearing request. This case is dead already.

Edit: More conditions of release:
Stay Away/No Contact (standard with a "victim")
Stay out of Newton (how in the effing eff is that a permittable condition?)
GPS with 7pm-6am curfew (roving bands of middle aged men have been known to wreck havoc)
Possess no dangerous weapons (keep them on safe and they should be fine (not legal advise))

You can’t use deadly force because you speculate that at some time in the future you might be in danger of death or grave bodily injury. You have to be in danger of death or grave bodily injury right now.

No speculation needed. He was in danger of at least bodily injury right then and there.

And if someone jumps me and tackles me to the ground and I'm pinned and can't see him or his hands, then let me tell you I'm in fear that my life is in immediate danger.

Ok, sure. But if we are ever out somewhere and some dude charges me and has to play Frogger before even reaching me, please just pull out the cell phone and record, because I’m about to have a good time.

The fine employees of NWH?
I didn't see nuttin' except a medical imagine of an unnamed person, with no personally identifiable information, posted by someone operating under a pseudonym on gun discussion board that regularly posts much more suggestive posts about a certain weather personality. Please if a restraining order hasn't been birthed out of that thread a HIPAA violation is a stretch lol

You make a good point in the respect that if the target of the ponytail dude was switched on he probably could have made this idiot eat some pavement pretty quickly just by throwing him off balance or something. In a perfect world the ponytail guy would have just gotten smoked by a bus or something and then we could all just laugh at his expense because nobody's going to jail for that. 🤣

You do know what I do, right? [rofl]
Gary’s occupation is a full time arrogant ass. His life’s journey has taken him from being a subpar paramedic to his current gig as a clueless internet legal scholar. I have him on ignore- you should try it!
P.S.- he’s an arrogant ass IRL as well.

According to him, felonies are not tried in District Court. Well dang, I am filing a ton of motions on Monday.

Bodily injury != danger of death or grave bodily injury.

Yes, he was being attacked

That is not clear to me.

Again, I despise pro-Hamas supporters and I despise men who attack the elderly in a seemingly unprovoked attack. It just isn’t clear to me that deadly force was legally justified in this case.
The guy looked to be at least mid 50s and severely over weight.

Getting thrown to the ground in that condition absolutely could be deadly.

What if the guy had a heart attack? Is it the assailants fault then?

Breaks a couple ribs and punctures a lung?

Full on tackling someone to the grounds who is fat and old is dangerous af for the fat and old person
