Prince Harry gives up £50K rifle collection and hunting 'to please Meghan Markle'

1. Think about getting one of the HOTTEST babes in Hollywood in her prime . Damn. Freaking Sean Penn the annoying douche. Wow.

2. I keep re-reading this and thinking, her SA brain is addled. . . .

Sooooo, your dad tried to kill you, mom shot him with a gun and now. . . . . . gunsrbad'umkay? Seems like you should be a poster child for self defense. Too much hairspray in the last 20 years????
Never trust liberal white women especially ones in Hollywood

I mentioned inbreeding among the royals earlier. (Although there’s no way this kid sprang from Charles’ loins. He looks just like the major his gold digging mother f___ed.) This article may interest some of you.

I don’t care about royals/royal drama, but just from one man to another… good for him if he actually does it. Hopefully he can find happiness again now that he’s gone from that drama vampire.

He's still a prince.

He can give up being a Duke if he wants, or they can gank that from him. But he was born a prince and that's what he'll always be.
I confess I didn't pay much attention to the whole mess. I thought she was good as Rachel, but it sounds like she's a void as a person.

I thought he gave up "something" when he went with her. Maybe it was gossip rag fodder from The New York Times or something. (that was a thinly veiled jab at the Times)

He gave up being a "working royal." Meaning he gave up the income he was getting from the Monarch, via Parliament. Gave up a bunch of other stuff, too, but that's the main one.

He still has his personal titles, but they're worth nothing.

f*** him, f*** her, f*** the royals. I don’t get the obsession with the royal family. She’s insufferable.

Pretty much, but Harry isn’t like most royals. When he could have just relaxed, he stepped up and served in the Army in Afghanistan as both a forward observer and a helicopter pilot. He also forced it to be kept secret so he could actually serve with his men and not be kept safe on a FOB.

Then, when he got out, he was very active with the Invictus Games. He seemed to actually care.

In that regard, he has my respect as a person, rather than a royal.

As for why Americans in general care about the royals? They’re famous and are frequently reported on. Humans in general gossip about famous people and have since the dawn of civilization.

Edit: corrected autocorrect

Royalty is also something we've never had, but a certain segment of our society has always craved.

Think about coverage of the Kentucky Derby. All the people who dress up and go to that thing would absolutely fall over themselves if they could meet a royal, and they'd be even more excited if a title was something they could get themselves. I just finished reading The Demon Of Unrest, which is a lot like The Guns Of August for the US Civil War, and it describes life in 1850s Charleston: it reads exactly like what you'd expect out of England a hundred years before. The rich people there referred to themselves as "the Chivalry" and had the same sense of noblesse oblige that would be familiar to any European nobleman.

Even the modern terms we use reflect this. Boomers were desperate to anoint the Kennedys as a royal family; JFK Jr is, even now, referred to as a "prince." It's wild to me, but understandable. And it's not going away.
