The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

I can’t believe she haven't signed this yet. This will make her queen of the land in the anti gun circles and make her the one that spearheaded the strongest gun laws in the country. Please VP Harres look at me I am the one. I'm queer and I here and will help you get guns out of the law abiden Americans hands. Please pick me when you are elected president. Maybe even consider me for a running mate at the convention.

My guess is that she will sign it with an emergency preamble on 8/2, making it effective immediately.

Honestly I don’t know for sure but the way I read it is no firearms period full stop to be sold unless on the official roster.

Right now there are zero rifles of any kind on the roster as of this moment so effectively you can’t buy any rifle. Once say that Henry lever makes its way to the roster then you can purchase that. I hope I am just being dense/stupid in my interpretation but knowing this state the worst outcome is what they are after.
If this is the true interpretation, then how many firearms companies will even bother to have there guns trested to be put on the list. Will the cost benefit be worth the sales in the small Massachusetts firearms market. If this is the real interpretation we in Massachusetts may end with a very small list of compliant firearms to choose from.

Well. I guess I’d better find out if I can get my action in before this goes in to effect. This is unbelievable for a f***ing bolt action rifle. And I’m sure the small outfits out there aren’t going to submit their custom bolt action receivers for testing. They have a hard enough time just keeping up with fulfilling orders and not giving up products for testing.

It’s already paid in full too so this is gonna suck

While I'm truly sorry for the situation you are in, maybe when the FUDDs try and get their new 10k trap shotgun and find out they can't buy it in the state, they'll think before voting for once.

*More than one person spun around when I said that this weekend at the Mill. They looked like they had seen a ghost*

Guys in California used to use things like that. Maybe they still do, I don’t know. But they’d convert the rifle to a fixed magazine. Thats probably what I’d do in MA if that satisfied the requirements (I have no idea if it does). You can always swap it out if the zombie apocalypse happens.
Bullet Button
Unintended, maybe. IDK

The wanted complete control of what we could buy and to that end they defined everything as a firearm and the sales of firearms are controlled by the approved roster which they could add and remove firearms to on a whim.
If you talk to some of these people, they aren't educated enough on guns to do anything intentionally. So it ends up being a mess. Day got his talking points from Gifford. His proposed ban of assault weapons is the same one that was introduced in Congress by Democrats these past three years. It's the same thing in Washington, Illinois, etc. Even some of the people who voted against this didn't know what the definition of a firearm was now or what it will be once the Bill goes into effect. They carve out LEO exemptions but then make it impossible for LEOs to get said exempt weapons.

I hear and agree with the the despair.

I mean what companies would want thru and or willing to go thru the process to sell guns here ?

However my ray of hope is that we currently have several companies that have jumped thru our crappy hoops despite this state not being “super gun buyers” when compared to other places.
I would hope they continue that. As well as other companies being willing to do so for their first time.

Article 1 Section 10 forbids the states from ex post facto laws so if the state intends to do what some think, then it is yet another violation of the constitution.

It's a lot of fun watching the fools in the government de-legitimize themselves if they try this. I don't care if it's a one party state or if they have majority support, things are set in stone in the constitution and SCOTUS has to put the state in its place if nothing else will.

I feel like the worst part of this is preban mags are no go for carry after this?
The near compete ban on semi automatic rifles is pretty rough too. Sure lots of us currently own “several” but it’s devastating for the next generation of MA gun owners.

I never had a pistol that could accept a preban mag but I agree it is bullshit to lose them. I am not the type that goes well I never needed xyz so neither should you.
To date I’ve never had to use my gun for self defense either but many have and I’m glad that they could and I’ll be super happy if I never do.

Uhhh I think the fact we can’t buy any rifles or shotguns at all is a bigger deal (and after that’s ironed out, pretty much any semi autos).
If you know about this and haven’t bought a rifle or shotgun by now then I don’t really know what to say. Losing the ability to carry preban mags i would think directly affects way more ppl here immediately on a day to day basis though. Unless everyone on nes just likes Glocks so much because they like to shoot guns that have the ergonomics of a brick.

There’s another part of this law (again I am not a lawyer or even a particularly smart person some would say)
There is something about you can’t leave your guns to… say your son if you pass they must be sold out of state or something to that effect. There goal is to make this state 100% gun free in the long con there running.

I agree this is atrocious for next generation of gun owners. I’m just butt hurt about not being able to carry preban mags.

These anti gunners just want two things: money and power. For some reason there is a global push for disarmament. There is a war chest that supports this and the globalist shills in our homeland who rule certain states and the chambers of Congress pine for a share in that wealth and power. I wish it were not so but for us who fight against that unseen force it is an uphill and eventual futile battle when it comes to taking up arms against the very enemies that have risen to power.

That time will come.

There's no way LEOs know about this and are not coming out full force against it.

Just keep on carrying them.

Can they transfer one in from another state?

New instructions for heirs:

1. Don't report the death.
2. Hide my body
3. Enjoy my guns, cars, boat etc.
4. Keep collecting my SS until corpse hits a "suspicious" age
5. When I would finally be 98-100ish, report me missing.

Just make sure they'll never find the body.

I kid....

Sort of.
