The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

There are plenty of examples of regular dudes getting jammed up over stupid shit like this. Stupid shit that actual gangbangers skate on every day. Maybe an ex or a kid says the wrong thing to somebody. Maybe cops are up in your business for something else.
I believe you. I also feel like "regular dude" has some obscure meaning because I know more people who have had zero issues versus people who have had issues.

That being said, no one is coming into my house without a warrant. That's that.

You guys want more confusion? What about pistol frames? Glocks, etc? Are those going to be legal if efa10 before 8/2? What a clusterfcuk this is going to be….

I think the Glock frames will have to be registered. Put an upper on in and eFA10.
They will still be legal to own. FFL's wont be able to transfer them anymore after 8/1.

What I want to know is if a LTC holder can do a private FTF sale of a new Glock after 8/1.

If so, anybody can buy a new Glock in the future - if you can afford what the seller is asking.

Can a LTC holder sell a AR15 privately FTF after 8/1?

Those aren’t affected if you already have them. The problem with frames after this goes into effect is that you won’t be able to buy them from a dealer without being on both rosters.

Why bother with glock?

The number one reason I carry Glock is because of pre ban high caps.

This doesn't do anything to kill out-of-state purchases of non-"AW" long guns, right? E.g. buying an over/under from Kittery Trading and then registering it on the portal?

Had been planning to get a new shotgun before the fall. I tried to visit a store to look at one of their used Berettas today and there were 15 people lined up outside the door waiting to get in.

So there is no more difference between a pre 1994 and post?
Throw some collapsible stocks on today and register and good to go? WTF.

glad I paid a premium for a pre ban.
If you paid a premium after 7/20/2016 then it wasn't all for nothing because at least you can't get jammed up for it.

Maybe I can have the best of both worlds.

I can be legal by registering and not get caught with an illegal gun.

I'll store all my goodies in NH at my ski chalet.

Being in the registry makes me scared of confiscation.

But, storing out of state alleviates that problem.

If the registry is leaked online and I get robbed, the robbers will only find one gun at my house.

They have no idea where the rest is or where stuff is buried.

IF the state does do door to door confiscation - let them - they will leave disappointed from my house.

GOAL says that there is Grandfathering for pre 8/1 guns. That is good news. Jason A. Guida says that post Healey's are illegal. I can't imagine that the state would make all the post Healey's illegal because if anyone were to be charged - they would lose in court and the whole house of cards would collapse.
IF the state goes door to door, that is the time to use them.

Not quite.

For “assault weapons”, they will now be “assault-type firearms”. For those, the 1994 date doesn’t mean anything after this goes into effect.

An original preban AR will have no more value than any pre-2016 AR. The pre-2016 ARs and other pre-8/1 rifles will all be “preban”. That is if they’re lawfully possessed in MA before this goes into effect. There is also the stipulation that they be registered with a system in accordance with a section of the bill that hasn’t been implemented yet. But I can’t tell if that is a stipulation for the gun to be safe from the ban, or if it’s just saying it will be preban and you’ll be subject to the penalties of failing to register if you don’t.

The 1994 date does matter for magazines. Only original pre-federal AWB prebans will count as preban magazines still.

I wonder if these politicians secretly own half the gun stores in MA, and they’re setting these laws to get ppl to panic buy.

Maura: “I got more sales last week than the last 6 months combined! Let’s double down on this ban and see if we can sell out our inventory in 2 days!”

IIRC all out of state purchases require an FFL in MA to receive them. All firearms have to be on the approved roster, and since there is no approved rifle/shotgun roster, you're f***ed.
I think that's only pistols. I thought long guns could be purchased and eFA-10'd within 7 days. I'd still rather give my business to a MA dealer though, especially now that they're gonna need it. I hope something can be figured out.

A crazy ex gets a restraining order looking to get revenge, which could potentially cost you your collection. Even if the restraining order is bogus with false allegations and is dropped, you couldn't get anything questionable back. Correct? Deeply concerned because women are all a bit crazy nowadays. I'm about to just do Reptiles go to style when he's left alone 😟😥.😢😭 better safe than sorry right? 😞

No. The rule is that one has to be able to legally purchase the rifle/shotgun in their home state to purchase it in another state. There will be nothing illegal about buying off-roster rifles and shotguns after this goes through. The legality will be in what the dealers can sell, not what the consumer can buy.

So yes, people will still be able to buy rifles and shotguns in other states. Provided they aren’t super scary salty firearms.

Edit: but this is still all bullshit and unconstitutional

See above. You’ll still be able to buy non-salty rifles and shotguns out of state.

But you will be “required” to register them with MA. I don’t advocate anything illegal, but it’s worthwhile knowing the law. The first time offense for not registering a gun is $1k. And the statute of limitations is 6 years.

Correct. PD has to take the guns now, no more going to friends. They won't be able to transfer anything super killy back to you.

As long as you're not a gangbanging thug or someone who has some pretty significant violent tendencies that are documented both from a medical and legal side..... I don't think the boots are going to knock in your door for what you have/what you will eventually get.

Still, I feel the most pain for the FFLs that are trying to run businesses. That is where I think the most damage will be done is you'll eventually see DOZENS of shops close. Healey and her minions don't want guns in this state, so how do you prevent them from coming in? Get rid of the FFLs. Put them in such a chokehold that they have to close down...

No. They are adding harassment orders to the DQ list.

If you have a minor disagreement with your neighbor, you could get a harassment order put against you and the police will come with a warrant to seize all your firearms if you don’t turn them in within 24 hours of the harassment order being issued.

The bar for a harassment order is much less than even the loosely issued restraining order.

Doesn’t even need to be a restraining order with this new bill. See above.

There's ALOT that needs to go into the confiscation though....

The court essentially needs to put out a warrant of apprehension for the firearms (smilar to a Section 12 or Section 35 for a person). Then, it is up to the police to determine whether or not they will actually "execute the order."

You wouldn't believe how many times the courts issue bogus 12s/35s that are not a police matter. While this situation deals with firearms, I wouldn't be shocked if some departments said "no."

Departments have refused these things before.

How long will it for take for licensing officers to start asking questions about your collection and whether it’s in compliance?

The SCOTUS would beg to differ.

I have said this so many times that some may be sick of hearing it and that being the Left lost its collective minds over Trump because he effed up their plans. They had everything on their side, country swinging wildly Left, RNC becoming RINOS, Gun Owners voting for Democrats, total control of the schools and the media. Along comes this Trump guy who knocks of the Queen Hillary, adds 3 justices to SCOTUS and rallies the remnants of the Tea Party and Reagans Populism and MAGA explodes taking over the majority of the Republican Party.

They hate Trump for sure, but they hate what he has done, his ability to rally the wounded Americans and his ability to lead. For this reason they will settle for nothing less than destroying him.
Trump should look at this election as the only way for him to stay out of jail for life. He should get serious and stop calling people names and hit them with everything else. Most of all tell America what Republicans will do for them to keep the country free. Democrats are already trying to say they are the party of Freedom ! Haaaa!
