The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

I think we collectively need to start a NES Bonded Warehouse. Maybe as a co-op to protect the hive vs letting them go to an opportunistic business like we have seen?
There was aguy a while back who started that.

It was a FFL who had reasonable rates and could come over quick to collect your guns.

Since it’s not signed yet it’s not law right ?She couldn’t sign it on aug 1 and insta ban everything? Wouldn’t there have to be a different effective date?
She can't change the law she can only sign it, veto it, or pocket? veto it (the thing that happens if it sits too long and goes unsigned).

The only possible way this gets vetoed is if the more pragmatic cabal members get to her and tell her this bill will cause antis to fail hard. I doubt that's going to matter, it would appear that the old cabals influence is waning here, or they're too busy ejacing over this passing to see its not going to get them what they really want in the long game.

There's no mandated registration for glocks or anything else until the magical database exists, which is at least a year away. If they didn't ban private transfers there's nothing effectively blocking you from selling something that's not an AW.
If/when that happens I challenge everyone to help beat Illinois level of non compliance when they tried this bs

After 7/20/16 I think non compliance in this state went off the chains. Theres a raft of pant shitters in mass but also tons who DGAF anymore. Some are unintentional though, too. The "laws" (and i use this term loosely) are so complicated to understand that laypersons break them just by merely existing.

Everyone has been talking about AR's and lists and what guns will have to be EFA10'ed when and no one has mentioned the change in training needed to apply for an LTC. The list of things needed to be trained in and mandatory range time looks as though it would put training out of reach for a lot of people either cost, time, or just making it so difficult that some will be discouraged and not bother.

This

It's stuff like this which is worse than any gun ban. Especially if the mandate forces a course that can't be done in one day.

Another reason why the bill should be rendered unconstitutional; bearing arms should not be cost prohibitive or inaccessible to the general population. Doing so is a deliberate attempt to prevent people from practicing their second amendment rights. Some politicians admit they want guns out of the state, which in itself is an admission of wanting to deprive residents of their second amendment rights.

It can't get any more clear how illegal this is.

I don’t think of that as I’ve had my ltc since I was 18 and that was a while back.

Got my fid at 15.

I still have that paper fid that is good for life. Lol

ETA: Rights should not cost money, nor should you need training.

If so, let’s have a class to tell everyone how the 1st, 4th, and 5th work. Let alone the 2nd

When I taught the LTC course at S&W the course ran at least 8 hours and it did include range time 10 rounds of 22 through a revolver and 10 rounds through a 22 semi auto pistol the classes were 35 to 45 students and the S&W course covered extensive meteral well over what is in the NRA Basic Pistol program and these classes would run over 1 to 2 hours depending how many students and how well they would perform on the range. I really can't see the new Massachussetts course coririculem being done in one day. As it is the NRA Basic Pistol program is hard enough to get done in a one day session. Most of the time I split it with one day class and the next day range to make it easer for the students and to secure range time.

And I read somewhere the state police will dox instructors posting their addresses online. I don't need the public knowing where I live so they can go shopping.

I already called the state police asking this question, left a message, no reply.

From the summary on Goal

"July 20, 2016 – Applies to the list of enumerated weapons (copies and duplicates ofthem) This now officially makes any purchases/transfers of Ars, Aks, or other enumerated Aws on or after the day of her press conference (July 20, 2016) illegal."

That is not what the language says. It says that anything purchased, owned and registered before 7/20/16 is NOT A COPY OR DUPLICATE. That is not the same as anything on or after 7/20/16 being illegal. You are taking two steps when you should take one. Report that it is not a copy or duplicate if it is "pre-Healey". That is what the law will say.

On whether it is a copy or duplicate on or after has not be judicated by a competent court. It is purely the opinion of the AG

We have 22 years of precedent from both federal and MA courts that say no, this is NOT the definition of copy or duplicate. And the MA AWB currently says "shall have the same meaning as" federal so the federal interpretation is what matters.

Why is GOAL going for super scare tactics on this topic?
Wait if it’s not a copy or duplicate will we be able to have unpinned stocks and muzzles on ones owned before 7/20?

@CrackPot I've read so much in the last week that my brain is going to mush. Does the frame game still have 90 days from signing (unless emergency preamble) ?

I was wondering that. I get the folks lined up to buy lowers and Sig Spears and that sort of thing, but it seem like folks would have an additional 90 days to do frame transfers on non-asw (handguns) before the law actually takes affect. Unless, of course, there is an emergency order.

Does that mean Tavors and others will be available after 8/1?
No. They are ASWs under the new law. Reading the enforcement notice faq kills off brain cells. People should stop doing that.

Also they are not on the approved roster for sale. All guns must be once the new law takes effect.
