What did you do in the reloading room recently?

Loaded my first 12 44 magnum rounds to test. 5.8 grains of HP 38 with a 240 grain plated RNFP. Looking forward to testing.
I too just started loading 44 Magnum, but my powder change is in the mens sizing at 24g of
H110 with 240g XTP.
25g max load was flattening the primers, and only 50 fps more than the 24g in a marlin 1894.

I will be trying VV n105 "super magnum " and n110 rifle powder next

I'm on the middle of a total renovation of my gun/reloading area. I used to have everything out in the barn, but with a desire for more long range precision, I've decided to put everything into my climate-controlled basement.
I have a couple of benches down there, but the first order of business was to put a couple coats of white enamel paint on them.View attachment 939957View attachment 939958
Made a little progress today while simmering a pot full of turkey soup 20241129_121858.jpg 20241129_121919.jpg on the stove.
Got the 550 and the old Co-Ax bolted in, and the 650 over by itself for dedicated 223 loading. Had add some extra outlets for the case loader and toolhead light.
Also bought a Firestick at HD for an old non-smart tv I had sitting on a shelf.

H110 has been by go to 44 magnum powder but I tried N110 a few years ago and like the cleanliness, accuracy and mild recoil. There’s no significant muzzle flash with N110 unlike H110 which is a little bit of a bummer 😂
My N110 loads run smooth in my desert eagle. Still got a pound left.

Yeah totally a fair rip. Probably should have clarified I do know these are not magnum more like just my first 44 loads. I’ll sack up & put some powder in the next batch.

No shame in starting off low and working up.

Haven't loaded 44, but have tried a variety of 357 loads using Unique, Green Dot, H110, Enforcer, and 2400. Haven't tried N110. My favorite so far is 2400.

I love 2400 for 357. I was wondering if it would be good for 44.

Thanks. Already had grabbed that text.

PV shipping puts it at local shop price so plan to pick one up there unless they come back in stock at Brownells again and they run free shipping.

Loaded the last of my 158gr Zero JHPs that I use for 357M. That pretty much polished off the 8# cannister of N110. I don't know exactly how many 357M rounds I've loaded in the last several weeks, but I think it's about 6000. I might not load 357M again. I think by the time I get through that stash, I'll probably just order a case when I need it. Of course, that's if I can. I needed another 100 pieces of 357M brass, so I picked up a bag of Starline brass at Cabela's the other day. I had to fill out paperwork, some kind of mini transfer thing. It was ridiculous.

Nice job 💪🏻

That does sound like a lifetime supply. I think I'd have a chronic case of tennis elbow before I got through that.

I just attended a GOAL seminar on the new laws where Green covered the regulations around ammunition and component retail sales. One thing he noted is there is no requirement to log amount in the new reporting requirements.

Should have grabbed the stuff on the classifieds here. @ddeck is selling some. I hear he only asks to check your bumper sticker to make sure you’re not a Kamala supporter.

I think I'd have a chronic case of tennis elbow before I got through that.

Now that you mention it, I did have some pain between my left shoulder blade and spine. That came from the non-press arm work, reaching out over the bench. I needed PT a couple of years ago for pain in that vicinity, so I knew what exercises to do to keep it from getting worse.

I've already retired from 9mm and 44M, now 357M. I have components for a few thousand more 38sp, then will probably stop reloading that, all pending availability of factory ammo and my current rate of consumption (or less). I'll probably be reloading 45C until I die because the factory ammo sucks in 45C, IMHO (expensive SAAMI mouse farts or overloaded to the max and more expensive for Ruger/TC only).

Had a wisdom tooth pulled today so I’m milking it this weekend
Working up some .308 147FMJs and some 30-30 110g plinking rounds with accurate 2230.
I got a good deal on a bunch of the 2230 and love it in the .223 so I’d figure I’ll give it a shot in the .30 guns

I’ve been wanting to get back into my model 94 lever gun for a while 2CE6474C-5683-4F4A-98A5-B003183A0302.jpeg

Loaded some 223 and setup old square b and loaded some 45 used some old red dot did a 50 round test to see have 9 lbs of it got from old timer with the square b how old do we think it is. Before my time reloading
Beautiful old container! I have one like that for some old powder. I love how the lid works too.

Got the case sorter all together and operating now. Training models for sorting at the moment. There are a lot of electronics and wiring on this one but it's been a fun build. I'll be cleaning up the wiring into a case enclosure now that I'm sure everything works as it should. I could see this being a good "manual" sorter as well, since it provides you a picture of the headstamp on the computer. Much easier to read on there...you can then just indicate the headstamp and sort it by just clicking a button. Hands don't get dirty.

This works for separating small and large primer brass as well, so I'll be going through that model as well. It only requires a sorter wheel and drop tube change.

There is a mod for height sorting (380 versus 9mm) that I'll look into at some point. No computer is necessary for that.

Total cost of electronics and hardware was about $450. It requires a decent computer to run which I luckily had...just had to add memory.

Loaded at 4.5 with 200 grain jacketed flat nose fired but wouldn't cycle. Close new g21 with only 50 rounds of factory through it. Think I'll bump it up a little see if it cycles if not lawn it goes
