Need details! This looks a lot like what I might like to do some day.

Lower came from first NES buy
LPK from NES buy
stripped A1 upper with sights came from an NES member
NOS 1969-70 Colt chrome lined barrel, with triangular handguard cap, barrel nut, FSB, and front sight, came from a friend in town
cocking lever from an NES member
bolt and other misc parts I ordered directly from RRA
original GI stock, grip and forearms I got from Numrich.

I've got less than $600 in it. Now I need ammo.

It's what I wanted to add to my GI collection. It looks like what was used when I was in the Army. I've been trying to collect at least one example of military firearms from the Civil War to modern times. This is as close as I'll get to an M16.

Now I need to focus on an M14 clone.

Took this one messing around in the yard this afternoon. The only thing I don't like is how the brass deflector (yes I'm a lefty) blocks out the bolt. I'll try harder next time I promise.

Nice AR. Please note - your Aimpoint is mounted incorrectly. The windage/elevation screws must be either at 9/12 o'clock or 12/3 o'clock, with the battery compartment on the side. This is to make sure your adjustments are horizontal/vertical instead of diagonal.

I also recently bought a Colt LE6920 (now that the prices are back down to sort of reasonable levels again). I haven't yet taken any pics of the Colt yet, but it is a GREAT gun.

This is what I would build, if I were to build something

Colt 604 slick side upper
Colt new old stock 1/12 twist 20" barrel with A1 flash hider
Slick side chrome bolt
A1 Triangle hand guards, pistol grip and stock
EA Pre ban lower

And I would probably have a few alloy follower 20 round mags to go with it.

My CMP-legal service rifle. RRA Lower, Geiselle SR trigger, weighted A2 buttstock, and CLE SR upper with a 1:8 Douglas Air Gaged barrel, 1/4x1/4MOA rear NM sight with a .036 aperature (no windage adjustable front sight....yet)

also in case: my CLE .22lr upper (actually attached to the lower currently), absolute tack driver with a 1:16 Douglass SS barrel and modified M261 kit. make for cheap practice all winter in my indoor range .

only have cutouts for 8 mags at the moment, may have to up that to 10 or 12 in the near future, if my backordered m261 mags come in. otherwise, i'm saving room in the case for either a spotting scope, or perhaps more mags/ammo/tools. havent quite decided yet.

2 PM's about it already: Case is a Pelican/Hardigg/whoever iM3300 from the GB a couple months ago. cut out with the foam cutter from hell (which i finally got working!)

Not the best optics but they were what I could afford at the time.
The AR with the bright barrel has a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16 x 40.
The AR with the varminter upper holds a BSA 4-16 x 40IR. This one has the illuminated reticle and mil dots to assist me in Coyote extermination when the season makes it way around.
Both of these uppers just got finished breaking in and I still need to set the eye relief so I can't tell you how I like them just yet. I do have the sun shields on them which make them look huge but it keeps me from loosing them and makes them look more evil. I also think that I am going to need to raise these up a bit because I need to smash my cheek into the gun to see downrange.
Still quite a noob on the AR scene but I am learning.
