Emergency Preamble to be signed Weds?

Is there another source that confirms this emergency preamble, aside from a single YouTube video made by a gun store? Seems like a ploy by gun stores to get people to panic buy so they can sell out their inventory,
Not a great ploy considering most wouldn't want to attempt to do 3 weeks of business in like 48-72hrs.

You’re right. But the signatures are from the vast minority of people in that state. The overwhelming will of the people in MA is in support of this legislation.
The vast majority don't GAS about it either way.
Tax football tickets or make them pay extra for little Johnny's soccer league and they'd be all over it.

I so wish that this totally predictable outcome did not come to pass. I would like to publicly thank all the people behind the petition for causing the governor to delete 3 weeks of sales as the only logical response to the petition.

The MA constitution (had anyone read it) was very clear that she could do this at anytime and effectively nullify the petition efforts. It also says we have until 30 days AFTER the law goes into effect to submit such a petition. Had you all waited to start this until a little later, you still would have gotten in the petition and your vote, but we would not have forced her to make the law effective before 10/23 to counter your move. Thinking she would not counter the petition...

So thank you. My 3 weeks of inventory also thanks you.

Plot twist: FFLs got Maura elected. They are all part of a secret underground Democrat group to get anti gun politicians in office. I am pretty sure I saw a couple of mill FFL having a beer with Maura and Warren. Atilla was with them.

BRUH!

You are the last person that can comment on what others charge.

You lied to people to try to sell your bullsh*t blem lowers. That is a scumbag move.

You can't shut up about it, so you do whatever you can to generate fear and try to sell your bullsh*t. Like your recently started, and locked, Glock thread.

The Anderson Lowers at $300 are still a better deal than your bullsh*t lower at $3K. At least I haven't seen those dealers trying to scare people into buying them.

I don't think his stuff actually exists. He's just screwing with you guys, and you keep feeding into it. Like his lingerie model. When he bumped the price of his lower to more than a pre-94 complete rifle, you should have known. He indirectly admitted it some time ago.

Why is she doing it now? Probably because of the petition effort, but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that the reason was so they could get the training requirements postponed. The why doesn't really matter.

This makes zero sense. They training requirements were *always* supposed to take place 18 months after the effective date. The only reason it wasn't initially is because they screwed up and failed to proofread for typos. They put "75" when it should have been "74" in SECTION 159. An emergency preamble doesn't make any difference to this (other than changing the training requirements from 3/23/26 to 3/2/26)

Does the preamble reset all of the dates in the bill? Would it set those requirements into effect immediately even with the new legislative changes made last week?

It resets the dates for anything that takes place immediately (anything that was 10/23) and anything that takes place a fixed time after the effective date. 8/1/24 stays the same.

She wants to prevent late comers from arming themselves a month before the most consequential election in our history.

She just wants to avoid (a) the lengthy implementation delay, and (b) the *remote* possibility that she loses when it's time to vote. I don't think it's more complicated than that. This preamble costs her nothing.

Good afternoon Governor Healy.

I am writing to strongly urge you to NOT sign an Emergency Preamble for Chapter 135.

As a resident of Massachusetts I demand that you allow the referendum process to continue in accordance with the Commonwealth’s laws. You must allow the people to bring it to a statewide vote in 2026 which is a perfect example of democracy at work. To do otherwise, makes YOU a threat to democracy.

Respectfully,
