Looking for options in Massachusetts for a sub compact (or perhaps a compact if it’s on the smaller size) 9mm or 380 in double action only (or double / single) that also has a hammer. I’m not interested in striker fire .
Something that is easily available (not something I have to find used or grandfathered in).
Intent is a small concealed carry hammer gun. Not interested in mini 1911 style pistols (like the p938).
Thanks in advance

Interested in revolvers at all?

I was getting all set to suggest a P938 until you added that...

It checks all the boxes. And there's actually not much about it that's similar to a 1911. It lacks a plunger tube, bushing, and grip safety; the action is entirely different from a 1911.

Hammer down no safety with one in the chamber is the need for this pistol. Draw and pull trigger.
For this use case it’s what is needed.

Springfield made what you're looking for, now discontinued, not sure why.

Seems to be one on sale in the classifieds.

the perception that glocks bite is still extra strong with the masses.
i had for very long time one with round in the chamber, and, well, nothing ever happened. false trust into safeties harms more than a respect to a gun that you know has no extra safeties.

striker fire or hammer does not matter. what matters is the presence of the internal safety that prevents the needle to hit the primer if your gun drops.

ps. nevertheless, my p360 has an external safety and it does not bother me. i do not engage it most of the time, though.

That is not the fear - for this use case a hammer is desired.
Used CZ Rami
those are great but can not get them in ma

It's discontinued because the primary demographic that likely thinks this is a great idea is dying off at rapid clip unfortunately. These guns shelf rot at retail because there's low demand for something like that. (Probably because stupid idea).

@G4Y4HK is actually mostly right for once here if OP really wants something like this he should stick with something that's conventional.

Things like p30sk aint going anywhere and will run forever.

Only problem is can't be cool like the cool kids these days with TV set reticles on it, unless you get a custom slide job. I had SAS Tactical shear off my rear sight and just trusting a Holosun dot to not fail me when I need to aim lol.
