New Folks Check In and Say Hi #4

Hi Shawn, Welcome. Have you checked out Marshfield rod & gun? I'm an ex Marsh-Vegas guy moved north.....
I might end up there because of distance and my in-laws being members but I am bothered by their demand of taking the $150 Safety Course from them. MFS safety course a few months ago isn't good enough? Seems like such a money grab by the club, it really turns me off.

Hey all!

Newer member here, went to the event in Boston yesterday and got my membership today - also joined GOAL today too [grin]

From the lovely little town of Medfield and applied for my license a couple months ago. I get out to the range as much as I can (at least once/mo) and even brought my Dad to shoot for his first time last week!

A buddy of mine @ work put me onto NES and we're not the only ones @ the office here. Looking forward to learning lots from the community and contributing what I can when I actually know a thing or two.

Happy to be in good company!

Hi stewie, welcome!! Glad you escaped NY. Are you saying you live in TX now? Either way, welcome to NES. Hope you enjoy your time here [mg]

I'd like the thank everyone on this forum for being a wealth of information over the years about the tangled shitweb that is MA gun law.

I have lurked for a long time when I needed info about this or that, but after the events of 7/20 I finally made an account.

Hey everyone! Another newbie to the NES community here. I have been a supporter for a while, but just recently got serious about the direction that both the country and the world are going in. The days that will require us to have the ability to defend ourselves and our families from enemies foreign and domestic might be closer than we think. We will need to work together to make sure we have the ability to do so! Look forward to chatting with you all some more!

Hello, Chris. Welcome to NES and 'grats on becoming green! Glad to hear you've been supporting the community for a while already. Hope to see you post in the forum more and definitely check out the members' only threads and shoots.

Hello Everyone,

I've been on this forum reading posts now for a few months. I live in Ashland and working in the surrounding town. Decided to sign up today as a member. Don't have much experience with firearms as a civilian, but spent 8 years in the Marine Corps and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently awaiting my LTC to be approved, sent in the application just over 4 weeks ago. Went to the Rally on Saturday, signed up for a 3 year membership with GOAL and have also been emailing my local representatives that did not sign yesterday's letter to the AG. I have been learning a lot on this site and look forward to being a member! Thanks everyone

Hi, gmbarroso [wave] Thank you for your service! Sounds like you're off to a great start (rally, GOAL, etc). Hope your LTC gets approved quickly and without issues. I heard the Saturday rally was a success. I live in VA now so was not able to attend. I went to the GOAL Rally in 2013 and that one had a pretty good turnout as well. Consider becoming an NES Green Member at some point so you can partake in all the members only goodies (members only threads, giveaways, shoots, etc). See you around the forum!

We have to pitch in and you a green vest, and maybe a motorized scooter. [wink] [thumbsup]

If I may make a request, I'd like a mini dirt bike [smile] if not, the scootz will do.

A tricycle would work well, she's just the right size for it too. [rofl]

Hi everyone, I missed posting here first due to all the goings on regarding our tyrant AG, so I'm rectifying that now.

I'm a firearms and history enthusiast from Plymouth, MA originally, and most of my family live and work on and around cranberry bogs in Carver and Middleborough. I currently live up in Chelsea (and submitted the change-of-address notification accordingly) for the sake of being close to where I work, but I still head back down to the South Shore for range time as much as I can.

I'm definitely a country type though, so once I've got a sufficient amount of working time done up in the city, I'm moving back to farms and trees. I love this state for its nature and history, and as I mentioned most of my family is from this area and didn't scatter very far, but with real-estate prices and gun laws as they are, Maine is awfully tempting...And I already know I like snowmobiling!

Hi there. Nice n00b post. Welcome! I'm also from the South Shore (Quincy) but I moved to Virginia a few years ago. I visit the Q area to see family and friends often - driving up tomorrow for the week. I haven't made it up to Maine much, just Kittery area mainly. Would like to check out Nubble and Acadia NP sometime. See you around the forum [wave][mg]

Yep, old Swamp Yankee family here as well from Rochester. Family still growing cranberries as well. I couldn't get my Dot Rat wife to move to property I own in Rochester, so we ended up moving to Weymouth, close enough to the city for her and far enough (almost) for me. I lived in NH for awhile and would LOVE to move back but she is real close with her family and her parents are elderly, so that is a non-starter for now. Also, she makes a TON of $$$$ in Boston (more than me) and doesn't want to commute or find a job north of the border that would likely pay less....
