New Folks Check In and Say Hi #4

My name is Chuck. Live on Cape Cod and am an active in a local fish and game club. Unfortunately I have been one of those who have been relatively silent on 2nd ammendment letting others fight the battle. My apologies to all. Thank you to all who have not made this grave mistake. Thank you for this forum.

My name is Mark. I've lurked on this forum for a while, but with the recent things going on in MA, I figured now was a good time to get involved and join the pro 2A cause.

Better late than never. Back in the 1700s up in your neck of the woods their were men that took a bit to get into the game. It turned about pretty well for the nation once we were all on board.

My name is John. Firearms exp includes everything from .22 to .45 and everything in between. I love everything firearms related. I'm a father to a lovely 4 yr old daughter whom I would do anything for. I love freedom. I'm a patriot. I am a freeman and a Mason. I heard of NES thru my father, N1OTY. Thank you.

Welcome Brother!

Hope you enjoy it here.

Checking in from Iowa.

Do you guys take in people from the midwest? [grin]

Been hunting and shooting most of my life. Pheasants, deer, grouse and an occasional rabbit. Going to try dove for the first time in a month or so. My day job is working in R&D and my night job is working in the gun business.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Good afternoon, I just joined and wanted to say Hello. I live in Blackstone and had shot for years when I was younger but when they did away with the old "FID" cards I never re-applied until recently, even though I took the required gun safety class way back in 2004! Anyway...I just received my class A license last week and I'm excited to get back into shooting. I went shooting over at MFS a few times already and realized how much i used to enjoy it.

I have found a wealth of knowledge on this forum already and think its great that so many are willing to take the time to post answers to questions in great detail and to just share information that members might be interested in! Thank you!!

Hi Jason! Welcome! We accept all kinds of folks [wink] Hope you enjoy your time on the forum. Perhaps you'll still be interested in supporting the forum and becoming a green member at some point. Although you live wicked fah, you should still be able to take advantage of the members only giveaways, shoots (if you want to travel), etc.

Hey guys,

Checking in from the North Shore (Wakefield). Been reading on this site for a while now. Great information posted daily from everyone. Thanks for such helpful information. I have been very interested in firearms for some time. Over the past couple of years I have been shooting more and building up a small stable of handguns. My father in law is a member at Mass Rifle, so I have spent some time there. I think I understand the obsession people speak of, it has taken me over. Im a normal guy, love guns, work hard, 2 year old girl, boy comig in Sept so want to continue to excercise my right to protect my Fam. Keep the great info coming, it is appreciated!

Looking forward to contributing, and asking more questions as I go.

- Paul

Hey PP18,

Glad to have you here. Ask away...don't worry about the "gumpy" answers you might get. We are all just one big very dysfunctional family.

As Minininjer says "go green" it is worth it.

Hi, Paul. Welcome to NES! [mg] I used to be a member at MRA before I moved to Virginia a few years ago. It's a great club despite what others may say about it. That is one of the things I miss most.... 24 hr club with no RSOs. Early congrats on your son!! See you around on the forum.

Hi All,

Been scrounging around this forum for a few months and finally registered and signed up for NES membership. I thought it is about time to proceed to the next step on getting my LTC here in Malden MA. I probably have read most of all sticky and old threads and searches on Malden regarding getting an LTC. Wanted to finally drop a Hi to the forum and wanted to ask if anyone from MALDEN MA area with any recommendation on the process of getting an LTC. Anything new beside the basics (saftey class, application process, etc). I just finished my safety course and hope to start application soon.

-Dan

Welcome! Thanks for going GREEN.

Hello Northeastshooters,

I have been an occasional lurker on this forum for a while. But due to the recent mess with the Massachusetts AG, I have started paying a lot more attention here. This forum has been invaluable to understand the legal situation in Massachusetts. I want to thank everyone here for their support for constitutional rights and basic freedoms.

I have been a serious recreational shooter for more than 15 years, and I am a Range Safety Officer for a busy club.

I occasionally update my blog at http://straightshooterjake.blogspot.com/

I have also posted two articles on my blog about bringing new shooters to the range. If you are interested, I think these articles give a good sense of what I am about. They are linked below.

Bringing new shooters to the range
Making a lesson plan for new shooters

Thanks everyone.

Hi straightshooter, welcome to NES! [mg] Yes, with the recent AG BS, everyone affected needs to keep up with everything going, spread the word and fight it. Thanks for linking us to your blog. See you around the forum [smile]

Hi NES,
Long time lurker.
Long time gun owner, but not active with social media. ( don't do Facebook).
There are a lot of us out here like me, so it's time to take a more active roll and get the word out!
Thanks to all of you!

Hi Northeastshooters,

I've been lurking about on and off for a number of years. I've landed on the forums a number of times via Google searches on various gun related quests.
With the recent BS of the Attorney General reinterpreting the law I found myself visiting much more often. I decided to join and be part of the conversation and hopefully participate in gaining our rights back.
I've been a gun owner for 35 years and an active shooter for most of that time. I'm a member of GOAL and life member of the NRA.

My preferred sport is bullseye pistol. I've been shooting in the Western Mass Pistol League for 25+ years for the Northampton Revolver Club team. I'm also the Secretary of that club and try to pass on what I learn here to our membership. www.northamptonrevolverclub.org

Thanks everyone

Welcome to NES, JD_Driver. Glad to hear you finally decided to sign up. Great choices on already being members of GOAL and the NRA. See you around!! [wave]

Hiya from NH. Another lurker here. Lots of great information here, so I bought a forum membership. I still have my hunting rifle and shotgun that my Dad(RIP) bought me back in 1973 when I was just 8. The world has changed for sure. When I was that age and growing up in Northern Vt. guns were in practically every home. Out in the open with ammo close by, and it was no big deal. Heck I remember back then being taught gun safety in Webelos and Boy Scouts. But Dad was my best teacher. Still recall how normal it was to see kids at the HS carrying guns into school and leaving in their locker as they either just coming in from deer hunting or going after school or maybe both. And it wasn't a problem.

Just getting back into shooting again after a fairly long, too long, break. I felt due to the times, I needed to read up on current laws/regulations and I enjoy forums for the instant information found thru them. Already spent many hours reading threads here and feel well up on the game vs. where I was before finding this place.

Hello, our new northern friend!! Thanks for being a green member to support this great community. As you already know, there is so much information out there, glad to see you're taking an active role on being one of the good guys. See you around!!

Hello from Fitchburg, Ma. Been lurking for a while and joined. The gun culture sure is diferent up here than what I was used to down south. Recently moved up here after leaving the service. I've found lots of good information here.

Hi hijinx [wave][wave] glad to have you here on NES. It's a great community we have here. I have met many members and they're all wonderful. Where in the south did you live? I used to live in Quincy, MA but now I live in VA so I can totally relate to those gun culture differences. And thank you for your service. See you around!

Dave - From Chelmsford, been shooting off and on since college (mainly friends who owned, etc) and finally got off my butt to get my LTC and back to sitting on my butt and waiting and waiting and waiting - figure end of Sept finally may be to the finish line on this god-awful process. C'est la vie.

Anyways, primary shot 9s and 45s, learned I was left-eye dominant at a State Police range in PA, and been screwed up since. Will eventually prob become ambidextrous, if only for necessity and really only a handful of semis for lefties without contorting... Right now just shooting everything I can at the ranges until paperwork clears and then figure out what rock is actually legal for me by the time Heally gets done.

I lived in Florida for about 10 years and then spent 8 of my 12 years in the Army at Ft. Hood, TX. Would have stayed in Texas after I got out but I was tired of being hot.
