New Folks Check In and Say Hi #4

I lived in Florida for about 10 years and then spent 8 of my 12 years in the Army at Ft. Hood, TX. Would have stayed in Texas after I got out but I was tired of being hot.

Not sure if you have had some of the wonderful pleasures of New England... blizzards, snowstorms, god-awful traffic.

Two words - Snow Tires. Love them, get a nice set and throw on an AWD vehicle and a car will run like it is on rails... As well, rock salt, and a small shovel is a must for your trunk in winter.

Hello All,

My name is Nate and I live in Boston. I have been shooting since I was a toddler, and am excited to get back into it. I found NES simple through a google search, but have been enjoying the community ever since!

Hi Nate. Welcome to NES! Glad you're enjoying the forum. Consider going green at some point to support NES. There are a bunch of cool stuff you're allowed access to once you become green (member shoots, group buys, karma giveaways, etc) and also, who wouldn't want to support such a great community? [smile] See you around [mg][rockon]

Hello all,

Eric from Andover here. Lurked for a long time and joined up after the recent ruling from the Queen. The site has been a great source of information for a long time and "pulled the trigger" and joined despite me being a Socialmediaphobe.

Hi everyone! My name is Mandy and I live near Worcester. I just joined NES yesterday. I officially moved to Mass a few months ago (originally from PA) and recently got my LTC. I'm still learning and am happy to have found this great resource. Thanks!

Welcome! Spend some time reading the stickies, especially in the MA gun law section. Also familiarize yourself with GOAL and Comm2a and consider joining/donating.

Hello all. Let me reintroduce myself. My name is steven, i was a member of the site but actually forgot my email pw so had to make a new account. In the northshore area and have been carrying for about 3 months. I will be going green soon.

Hello All,

My name is Steven Daniels. I live in Concord, NH and just purchased a new .380

I grew up in Maine, moved to NH at about the age of 18-19. I am now later 40's ;p When I was in Maine we shot everywhere and anywhere. More often then not, out our windows or off our decks. It just wasn't an issue.

I just purchased "my" first handgun. I am itching to fire-off a few rounds, but can't seem to locate a safe spot to do so. I hear rounds fired constantly around me in Concord... near the airport. Day/Night doesn't seem to matter. Sometimes a couple rounds and sometimes for hours.

I actually joined the forum to see if I can find someone in my area that has a safe spot to test and line sites... without hassles.

I know the typical response is "join a club", well... I have three applications into three different clubs in the area and all have a minimum two year wait.

Yah, I know about "Manchester Firing Range"... but since I was accidentally grazed in the arm there from a ricochet shot off the florescent lighting cover by an idiot two booths over, I think I will stay away. I understand accidents happen, that's why I walked away, but while at the service counter I peered back into the range to witness said idiot starring down the barrel of his new 9 while smacking the butt on the table to release a jammed round. This was my first and last experience at an indoor range.

Anyways... if another user or admin know an area, preferably close to the heights in Concord NH, but I can drive around please PM me.

Many Thanks.

Hi Steven,

Welcome to NES! [wave] I don't live in the area so don't really have any suggestions but hopefully someone will reach out to you and you will find a safe place to shoot at. Cheers!

Hello everyone. Garry from Quincy, MA. Took the safety course over a year ago and put off applying for a LTC until Maura, the excellent saleswoman that she is, motivated me to do it. Been about 40 days since getting fingerprinted and the FRB told me it was printed and mailed to local PD about 2 weeks ago so hopefully not too much more waiting.

Hello all new to NES looking forward to getting some great info and adding to discussions

Hi MACCW34 [wave] , welcome to NES. Friendly reminder: Try to use the search function on the forum before starting new threads... most general / basic stuff has already been asked and answered countless times. With that said, however, don't be afraid to post [grin]

Looking forward to your contributions to this great community!

Hi JonL [wave] Welcome to NES! Glad to see you are already a member of a club and the NRA, as well as GOAL. RE 'stupid question' - no problem. There are many people who did not grow up with firearms and now have embraced them, myself included. Do try to remember to use the search function on the forum before asking some questions. Most general questions have been asked and answered many times before. Consider going green as well. It will help support this awesome community, as well as give you access to stuff like free giveaways (karma), group buys, meet and greets, member shoots, and many more. Cheers! [mg]
