The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

Seems like this language is already in the current statute. General Law - Part I, Title XX, Chapter 140, Section 122B
Except it is not.

The sale occurs at the time and place of transfer of ownership. Typically, this is FOB (Free on Board or Freight on Board) Origin. This means that when the good pass the threshold of the loading dock of the seller, the sale is complete and title of the goods has transferred to the buyer.

Legally speaking, the "sale" (which is codified as the moment the ownership of the goods has transferred) happened when the stuff left the dock onto the common carrier's truck.

Also, the Commonwealth does not have any jurisdiction or capability to license dealers from out of state. The statute that exists now clearly calls out licensed dealers.

So what you’re saying that the language in the bill is the same, and thus is still null and void regarding online ammo orders?

But, I do feel bad for the people that will and especially the FFLs/people in the business. Government already makes running any business painful.

South Shore Guns is primarily a Pre-Ban AK dealer in MA. Bought a couple very nice AK specimens from him in the past. He's about to shortly be put out of business with this law. Soooo, if you're looking for an AK I'd look him up. I'm betting pricing will look really good in short order. Saw a post from him today saying he had 35 AKs in stock.

Same here. Moving to be free to move close to my daughter or son wherever they end up. Job number 1. But like you likely the Carolinas.

This wasnt what got me moving a lot of other backwards shit became intolerable as well. Like someone said this is just shit frosting on the turd cake of high taxes, illegals, retarded pols, weather…etc.

I would never fault anyone for staying and fighting. But over time generational loss of rights is all ive gotten here in my 50 plus years.
I have been lucky to live on acreage in red central ma. If I was on a postsge stamp east of 495 the situation would have been much more intolerable. We do have good jobs and good people here.

Friends and family are already lining up for weeks in my spare bedrooms Dec-April. Our best friends are already booked for a month every year and we will probably see them overall more than we do now. Same with my parents and MIL staying a month as well.

I can come back here anytime I want as I have two properties to stay at and own in trusts right now. I will need to come back actually to fix and help.

This bill is gross….. the no carrying or using standard cap mags outside your home and frame is a firearm are gonna make it tough to get around the way we used to. Plus all the other shit we havent seen yet.

Agree most that do not comply will not have issues. This is a big paper tiger. But dealers and pantshitters will and if you dont comply. Good luck as its a toss of the coin. However this shuts off ownership for new people without stuff. Future not bright when you kill the future with a swipe of the pen.

Not that government isnt killing our whole future off anyway with their spending. But this ones using your money against you pretty hard.
And funding my own demise of freedom while pols spit in my face collecting my tax dollars is what frosted my ass most about living here.

Starting 8/9 I retire, scrape off my inspection sticker, take my front license plate off and drive away. Good or bad…Peace out brothers.
I moved out of mass specifically for better gun laws and the ability to buy more house for less in the mountains.

That's terrible. He's a good guy. In fact, most of those "Bridgewater Mini-Mill" guys are first-class.

Same with many dealers in Littleton. Feel horrible for those hardworking guys 😔😡

sad, but makes sense. the whole purpose of this law(less) effort is to put folks like him out of business.
We should be plastering the state will billboards directly targeting all of our Reps. "XYZ voted to close hundreds of small businesses. They don't care about their voters" blah blah blah. Waste of time, but at least it puts them in the hot seat. f*** them all. Scum. Every single one of them.

Well, I moved out of mass specifically for better gun laws and the ability to buy more house for less in the mountains.
Everyone is different and moves or doesn't move for different reasons.

Real estate for something where I'm looking is about 75-100k less than what I own up here...in general. If I want to go thru the hassle of building myself (contracting it out and doing finishes myself) , Ill likely pocket 150 -175K in savings. Taxes, fees, etc...all way less as well so over time taxes will save me around 40K into my savings per 10 years.

If I want to go further boonies or mountains....I'll pocket more.....not sure about that though, but more land is likely down there than I had up here is included in that, and likely a nicer house than I owned up here as well overall. I'm looking at double the land I had at least, still build a nice house/garage, and probably pocket 100K, not including yearly tax savings.

A total break even move......I'd get double the size house and double the size land, or a McMansion on the same size lot......but I don't want a big house. Tax savings would be less on a big house, but still considerable like 50% vs. up here.

I say I should have bought earlier, but if I sold my house earlier I wouldn't have gotten what I got for it now....its generally relative unless you buy/sell into a hard boom/bust area. There are some of those starting to bust down south in heavy investor areas. RE seems to be stabilizing in most areas Im looking and land seems to be getting more available. Im working with a local realtor and shes sending me a lot of new acreage lots daily that are sitting longer than they would a year ago.

probably, but, as with everything else, the conservative approach is to suffer silently.

I don’t see where it says anything about not being able to carry them. You’d be a fool not to anyway.
The grandfather exemption specifically mentions where pre-ban mags may be possessed - private property, shooting ranges, in transit, etc. but does not include carry on ones person in the list of exemptions.

Yeah, I already got that question answered thank you though I didn’t see it. I didn’t notice at the end. It said you’re allowed to be under a .08 alcohol content low caring that’s interesting. I don’t recommend it.

Don’t worry, the Irish already figured it out for us again those Irish IMG_3595.jpeg

Stop acting like there is accountability to voters here.

They act without any fear of retribution....cause there is none.

If there is a hint of it the media covers their ass/or voters are so retarded up here no one cares.

A state where very few people own guns, and the ones that do....many of them agree with banning AR's and the like, or are Fudds. A tiny percentage of them belong to GOAL and pay attention. And a lot of them vote D.

All true, but there is a sense of satisfaction having a reps face with the word c*** on it plastered across a highway

Where did you get a full size pic of @fencer????

Curious where you guys are seeing 8/1/24. All I see is:

“provided further, that the firearm shall not be considered a copy or duplicate of a firearm identified in clauses (d) and (e) if sold, owned and registered prior to July 20, 2016”
So 7/20/16 or 8/1/24..... who cares about consistency. What does GOAL have to say?

Not sure why this would impact pre-ban AK's unless the mag BS has an impact? What am I missing? FYI I am assuming pre-ban means October 1, 1993. sometimes referred to September 13th 1994 which is when the 922r clause was created.
