Best 300 Blackout SBR?

With subs and a suppressor its close to air soft levels. If this is for home defense, that saves time for putting on ear pro as well as not blowing out your family's ear drum.
i gonna try to make a 165gr 9mm load in 1100fps range and will see how that will work.

Let's see. 300 Blackout subs are around 500 ft-lbs. 9mm 147 gr is around 325 ft-lbs. That seems to be a pretty big difference to me.
How does a 115gr 9mm compare with a 110gr 300 Blk?? :D

I remember watching a video of a person shooting a melon with different weight 300 blk rounds. 200-220gr hit like a 45ACP round. 147-150gr made large chunks from it. 110gr basically vaporized the thing. Lets see a 9mm round do that. [rofl2]

look in reloading forum, i actually posted charts there, if you`re interested. not same, but, close enough.
124gr load shows 610, 169 - 540ft-lbs. yet to be tested and confirmed.
gotta be hot and punchy, of course, and not for the pistol use.

I think you really need to dedicate a 300 Blackout to either subs or supers. The zero between the two would be vastly different and the gas setting would be significantly different.

124 gr would not be subsonic. So if you are looking at a 300 Blackout subs, then the appropriate comparison would be 147 gr 9mm, which are also subsonic.

i am well aware, and that is why i look at heavier than 147 loads. 147gr rounds can be bought from a store, it is not an issue.

For real, I saw a 7-9 MOA at 100 yards difference between supers and subs with the Rattler LT.

The Rattler only has a two position adjustable gas block so not much tuning available.

Currently I run supers in my 300 Blackout pistol (haven't shot the carbine in some time). 147-150gr loads. Runs just fine as it sits. If I was to go for a can on it, I'd look to get an adjustable gas block, or just get a flow-through can and not worry about it. :D

Exactly. I think it is a better design.

Interesting, I've never seen that before. I can see wanting a slimmer profile but everything costs something, now you have a taller setup. What is the line of thinking for that?

You mean the height of the red dot? From what I understand, higher optics are better for use with night vision. Apparently they are also a bit faster for use in CQB.

But optic height is kind of like the height of hemlines -- they go up and down over time with fashion.

That said, I don't think you need to use a super high optic in order to use one of the new collapsible magnifier mounts.

i still kinda on the wall about adding 300blk to the stable, 9mm is almost same plus i have a TON of ammo for it.

but ordered .223 in 13.5", as i wanted one to begin with. it really looks like a carbon copy of the cmmg design wise, same bolt construct.
It's basically an AR18/180 bolt, so anyone coping that will be very similar. If I get the time in the next day or so I'll pull the bolt form my AR180 and the BRN180 and take some side by side pics.

Adjustable gas is stupid on 300blk, at least on short barrels.
There is never a need to reduce gas, you want as much gas as possible.

The zero is different, but the spread is not as much as you would think. @150 yards, i was was hitting a 10" gong, off hand, without adjusting the sight.
I am sure the POI was different, but not by much.

300blk is super fun. The giggle factor on 300 sub with a can is huge.
But..
It can be an expensive round, and a 300blk round will chamber in a 5.56 rifle, and the round will go off with a big bang. Everyone should be careful with guns, but having 300blk and 5.56 needs extra diligence.

I run different mags, aluminum for 556/223 and magpul for 300, and never do it different.
