  1. you cannot get a FFL for personal collecting. You have to be "in the business". This can be worked around but is a hurdle
  2. MA requires an address not residential for a FFL so the cost of space is not a trivial component
  3. They have fcked over dealers/FFLs also. We are no longer exempt from the AWB or mag capacity restriction. We cannot import into the state any ASWs or LCFDs. So being a FFL does not enhance your collection in any meaningful way any longer under the new rules
The 03 is technically an FFL.

I’m not going to say anymore since this could be a future advantage.

I accept that NES hates the police. I do not discriminate against anyone based on some single group attribute including profession. I have lots of customers that are good people, gun nuts, and police officers. I have always sold anything that someone can lawfully own if I can find a way to lawfully transfer it to them and they are not a raving idiot (ok, i still sell to @Broc Tuah as an exception to this rule)

So if you need to virtually tattoo faggot on my forehead, do what you need to. But I dont discriminate including against LEOs.
NES doesn't hate the police. I believe we were against the BLM and anti police riots. We backed the blue at that time.

The police or at least their organization as MACOPA is on board with this anti gun bill. Therefore they are not backing us.

Not speaking for NES....but I don't think we support organizations who support anti gun bills.

So I believe its the other way around.....Cops don't stand with us even though we stood with them.

So be careful how the word hate is thrown around here, and its seems the only one hating is the Cops on us.

And after this bill is signed if gunowners here in MA don't support the Cops well.....they certainly earned the disrespect....did they not?

After all.....other states when these stupid anti constitutional gun bills hit......Sheriffs and Cops come out and say they will not arrest..........well........where are all these blue knights coming to our rescue?

Yep. I actively defended cops before, once they dropped their opposition I went full NWA.
seth meyers GIF

Next step: ACAB.

CR FFL is for collecting only and not selling. Old guns only. 50 years old or older....

I know, and I have an 03, I had just always toyed with the idea of getting another license in order to get around some of the other stuff, but it sounds like there's no longer any point.

I hate anyone in government who doesn't abide by the constitution.

So. To that extent? Sure I hate the cops.

Traitors will be traitors...

Any who vote to pass this infringement are confirming what they are.

They don't care about the Constitution - it's now all about "muh democracy" by which they mean "their regime".

And anyway who do we think is going to enforce the Constitution even if and when SCOTUS rules? The Feds? Good luck.
That's probably where this goes in 2026-2027.

Regarding #3

Since you won’t be exempt from the “ASW” ban or LCFDs, this also means LE can’t acquire them either, right?

Unless they bring you a formal request on a letterhead, akin to NFA items?

(This might have been answered already)
They can acquire what I have as of 8/1/24. I will no longer be able to import into the state ASWs or LCFDs under any circumstances. Police will need to get all their new supplies out of state.

because like the yugoslavian sks, it was made in a country that doesn't exist any more. So some museum head wrote to the ATF explaining how it is now part of history, and therefore, a relic, and a curio...
I know how it works as a c&r I have a couple

I mean how does it work WRT the new law

Must be Verboten now

As i read it.. (going to wait for GOAL's summary)

(f) A bona fide collector of firearms may purchase a firearm that was not previously owned or registered in the commonwealth from a dealer licensed under section 122 if it is a curio or relic firearm as defined in section 121.

"From a dealer licensed under..."

It doesn't say you can't buy a firearm out of state, MA has no authority in other states. Sounds like this allows you to have something sent to a dealer, and the dealer can transfer it to you. But someone who is not a boner fried collector can't just buy a cz-82.

"
Section 128B. Any resident of the commonwealth who purchases or obtains a firearm from any source within or without the commonwealth, other than from a licensee under section...."

You can buy out of state, but you have to register it.

The new language for registration doesn’t seem to have a provision for a resident buying out of state like the current law. Only moving in and personally made firearms.
