Massachusetts Bill HD.4420 "An act to modernize gun Laws"

Two yard signs in Ware have you fired up?

I personally planted two in Sturbridge, two in Southbridge, and three in Charlton.

Boo!

You know why we were delighted to see "only" 2 signs in Ware yesterday........?

Because we actually lived thru the 1976 hysteria to ban ALL handguns Republic-wide....and during the run up to that ballot question there was NOT ONE YARD SIGN, BANNER, POSTER OR ANY OTHER FORM OF PUBLIC COMMUNICATION FIGHTING AGAINST THAT BALLOT QUESTION THAT WE CAN REMEMBER SEEING DURING OUR TRAVELS OUT AND ABOUT.

In this part of the Back of Beyond it is not unusual to see any signs that advocate for an opinion that does not hew to the current left-wing platform to be defaced or destroyed by the people who believe that only THEIR opinions matter......... and no others need to apply.

So....in the grand scheme of things 2 signs in and of themselves may not seem very important.......but to us old people who have seen this movie before.......it is a positive sign that maybe......just maybe......this time around more decent folks will realize what exactly is at stake here and join the current struggle.

If you are planning to attend the GOAL ART OF CONCEALED CARRY CLASS on September 5, 2023, you will learn that the actual art of small arms management from a concealed carry perspective really consists of 3% knowing how to physically manipulate your personal side arm and 97% of knowing when not to even consider the employment of that tool as a means to resolve a conflict in the first place.

The portion of the class discussing the legal aspects of concealed carry is listed as being conducted by Attorney Lisa J. Steele Esq. Attorney Steele is a well-known and experienced authority on lethal force issues and has written extensively about them.

If you read only one article about the defense of a self-defense shooting her article written for the education of attorneys defending such cases is excellent.

In view of the House's determination to disarm all of us it would be helpful to have at least a working knowledge of the legal aspects of self-defense as the political atmosphere surrounding legal firearm ownership is getting worse these days.

Poor guy, he doesn't know how MA courts work, and the SJC's disdain for the Supremes and the constitution....
Even though the ruling doesn't change the current laws it's a step in the right direction. A win is a win, no matter how small. I believe it can now be sighted as case law by other defendants here or in other states, please correct me if I'm wrong.

It'll be appealed to the MA SJC, they'll reverse the decision and the guy will be given a plea deal that'll leave the law intact... because MA won't want to risk the current SC smacking their re-assigned pee-pee

so she might have decent legs?
It has been just about 30 years since middle school for me. I don't remember, and this might be odd, but I am very much a "content of character / actions / political stance" when it comes to people as a rule. I don't tend to judge based on looks.

If you are considering asking her out to dinner, remember not to bring up in the ensuing conversation any mention of our 2-A Constitutional civil rights.........I get the impression that she was not able to attend class the night that subject was discussed.......and there is no need to needlessly embarrass her about her lack of professional knowledge in that area of the law........just a thought........

this was covered already, look for @nstassel post, but to recap, sure you can cite it but it's bot binding, not considered a precedent.

I thought he was from MA.
I always thought he went too far with his declarations of BIG WIN, which if followed would get a person jammed up.
Someone is going to believe that they are GtG and get locked up following what he says.

It's a good ruling, but only applied to that one guy. It's not a big win, it's a tiny step.

The guy had other pending charges so no need to hit him with the carry charge in order to extract maximal punishment and funds.
Even Mass recognizes that they can only push so far and they already have a foot over the line.
I doubt the dismissal will be appealed since at the district Court level it isn't binding so no real loss to the state

The fact that even a single judge in Mass rules in this manner is a big deal.

my brain is basically a bifurcated chick analysis machine. The reptilian part assesses the female form in much the same way the terminator analyzed its targets. It all comes down to shapes, dimensions, ratios, and number estimates. The marginally advanced part of my brain processes the intangibles - politics, sense of humor, etc.

Both sets of criteria carry a certain weight. A girl could be a 10+ and I might still push her off a cliff. However, if she was totally good to go with the intangibles, but looked like Biden's sock puppet Levin, that would be a deal breaker as well.

It's all a moot point, though, cause no chicks are interested in me anyhow.

The Armed Scholar is a bloated, inarticulate, disingenuous manifestation of the worst of 2A advocacy. He's only recognized as the idiot he is because he's not as well packaged as Colion Noir who is just as incoherent and ultimately destructive. There are a variety of actual practicing attorneys (Yeah, sorry, Colion doesn't practice the law no matter how much he says "I'm a lawyer") who you might not enjoy as much but who actually can provide information including things some 2A people don't want to hear. You can probably tell they're more legit if they anger you by telling you your assumptions are wrong as often as they confirm your passion for your rights.

And... All YouTubers you'll ever see use clickbait titles and thumbnails because the system rewards them for it. This is true even when the content isn't bad. This is what's wrong with YouTube, Facebook etc. They drive that race to the bottom for clicks and, in so doing segment people into intractable bubbles of 'information' that propagate misinformation at best and outright propaganda (sometimes foreign psyops) at worst. Social media is a root cause for an enormous amount of what's wrong with this country.
