Registration requires a new IT system. The State has a year to develop it. Then everyone has another year to register.

What is in the existing system is irrelevant. It’s not a registry.
In a years time is it possible that a court would issue an injunction?

Look at the past 12 months. We had some good wins.

Legal to purchase also meaning legal to efa10?
This goes back to the ATF comment on Form 1s. The ATF confirmed with the state that these were okay to approve, post 2016 lowers newly built and manufactured into SBRs. The ATF would not approve a Form 1 for a firearm that was not lawfully possessed. In CT they required the AWB certificate to process. Notice in MA they did not require any receipt that proved pre-2016.

Don't have time to read 116 pages... So can ARs still be sold, they just have to get rid of the handguard or pistol grip and not allow a VFG to make sure you burn your hands on the barrel? Basically, the FM Ranch Rifle would be legal? And would you be able to canabalise a rifle? Not sure if that would be the right term, but basically the whole frame transfer thing always blew my mind, because I've been buying new cars since 2006. And my first car I bought they had curbed the rim. And they had a different colored same model car and I basically said "So, give me a rim off that and replace it when you get the new one in" But they could not. They said there is a CMR for new car dealers where it says something basically about changing an OEM configuration for an as new sale. Does it look like from reading the new law that you can take a new rifle from lets say Aero and make it "compliant", pinned stock, pinned brake, remove the handguard leave a pistol grip and sell it?

They are copies or duplicates and the new law codifies copies and duplicates. So no.

They are not in the roster and selling by dealers must be on the roster for ALL firearms including rifles and shotguns. So no.

Keep asking or just assume “no” for most questions

They ATF did shortly after the Healy ban, but I believe later backed off. BTDT.

The roster out to be really interesting going forward with the reconstituted Firearm Control Advisory Board.

Here's the letter I sent this morning, not that it will do much:

Dear ...

I am writing to express my strenuous opposition to HD 4139. Massachusetts currently has the lowest rates of gun-related violence in the country. Further restrictions on lawful gun owners may no longer be the most effective means of reducing deaths. The root causes of these issues—such as social inequity and mental health problems—should be the primary focus of our efforts.

Let me be clear: I have been a licensed gun owner for approximately eight years. I have attended dozens of classes at the Sig Sauer Academy and other reptutable institutions to ensure my proficiency in the use of my weapon. Both my wife and I, as responsible gun owners, routinely practice to maintain our skills. The excessive burden this legislation places on citizens like us is, in my opinion, a violation of several constitutional rights, as highlighted by numerous speakers during the limited open sessions. This is neither fair nor ethical.

I am committed to supporting all legal challenges against this bill, including court challenges. This issue will mobilize my vote and my political donations. I will contribute to the upcoming election and then turn my focus and resources toward opposing this legislation.

It is crucial that our legislative efforts prioritize the well-being and rights of all citizens. HD4139 undermines these values. I urge you to reconsider your support for this bill and to advocate for policies that reflect a commitment to all constitutional rights.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and hope to see more constructive legislative initiatives in the future. Please be a representative for all your constituents, not just those who agree with you.

Sincerely,
JJC
Here is the response I got today

And this is a highly respected 2A lawyer, often recommended on NES ??

This is his second hot take that's retarded. He had another the first go around, as well. I'm starting to wonder if he owns any firearms himself.

He should stop tweeting. We've utilized his office in the past for legal paperwork which went just fine. Starting to reconsider.
